I just heard ordering a sub at the Ft Thomas Subway. A kid that ran track against him was telling a friend. He saidhe was walking by himself down the street and it was a drive by. Very sad indeed.

Lot's of places in the COV that I would not go in to without a gun. Just a lot of bad areas still unfortunately, although the community really seems to be trying to better it's self and get rid of some of the problems that have plagued the area for so many years.

Drive by? Question is was he the intended target . Growing up in Covington I always hate to read the local paper after moving away and seeing these stories .So sad. But not a surprise on the area it happened.

 

I also read in the Newport projects a kid got shot and another got pistol whipped . Violent day in my old urban setting in NKY.

You said it pretty well here Lawnboy. I will not be surprised if we hear that this was not a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Regardless of what the facts may be around the case, a sad loss and prayers to friends and family.

I've gathered a lot of information throughout the day before I decided to post on this issue as I got the chance to know Sean over the years because of his athletic abilities. He was always a very respectful and well mannered kid when I had the opportunity to talk to him. Still remember how excited he was after the Beechwood win last year and the huge smile on his face.

 

This was definetly a case of the kid being in the wrong place at the wrong time. (Absolutely nothing drug related unlike the other case involving a local basketball player a couple years ago) I don't want to go too much in to detail out of respect for his friends and family, but this kid didn't have many enemies. I know this will sound strange but he was actually well on his way to being a successful rapper in the area as apart of a group called "Th'Planes". There were a few who didn't like his success and that is what led to all this. Sad, honestly because he was trying to do right for him, his kid, and girl that he had a kid with and then this happens.

 

As bad as Covington can be, this is the first I've ever heard of something like this happening to someone as well known and liked in the community as Desean Peterson was. Hoping justice is served to the person who did this, especially after reading and seeing what I did on facebook from the guy that is expected to be involved in the murder. (From those close to the situation)

 

Former Lloyd football star Myron Hopkins had his brother shot to death not too long ago as well.
