Well enough talk of the X QB situation (I can't remember the last time I said that), and time to start making some predictions.

After the Central game I was not sure if this game would be much different than the last couple of ones. But as I started to think about it, X has showed some resolve during their inconsistent play. In the BG game, X did not fold and battled back to at least give themselves an attempt at cutting the lead to 7. Finding ways to win a sign of a good team, and that has been what X has had to do in their 4 wins. In there two loses there have been a number of missed opportunities, but even with those missed opportunities they have at least had a chance to be in position to win the game.

At the end of the day X's best player is #16 and regardless who the QB is, X has to get the ball in his hand in multiple ways in order for them to score points. The defense has to contain Reggie and not let him get outside the pocket. Hey Coach Walsh, check out how the Bucs use to contain Mike Vick back in the day. In addition to containing Reggie, they have to gang tackle, because they have not been the best tackling group. The DBs by the sound of it have been the achilles heel for the defense. A little piece of advice, don't let anything behind you.

If X's OLine comes to play then it could be a big night for Walker and Davis, and if the happens X will win the game.

Final Score

Tigers - 27

Rocks - 19

I'll take St. X 28-24. Difference in the game will be Charles Walker's ground game moving the chains and Houk rallying the troops and playing well enough to keep the defense honest.

Question to everyone on bgp. If X wins, is it considered an upset? Honest question.

I can see where the idea of an upset plays in, but when these two get together I firmly believe there is no such thing as an upset. They both good teams playing each other. So in my opinion there is no upset.

ROCKS will win their seventh in a row. Don't care what the score is.

Just based on our poll, Trinity is favored by a margin > 2:1. I would say it's an upset if St. X wins, albeit a mild one. Rivalry games are tough to pick and with Trinity not having any in-state opponents yet, it's even tougher to call (especially given their losses to quality teams).

Actually 3 QB's and 3 dads.....one is the JV starter.

Want another kicker! The JV backup is Corey Chitwood. Son of former offensive coordinator Pat Chitwood who is still a teacher at St. X.

Let's remember X has played T close some times lately and that X is a more veteran team than the Rocks, who are very young on defense. T will need to show some toughness to win. I hope they can. It seems the team has had a tendency to fade late in games. They need to fplay hard to the finiish.

Starter to be named at the end of the week.

How do you get tickets for the Brown & Williamson or PNC clubs for this game?

Ask one of your friends! :ohbrother:

Too lazy to look thru all posts.

What time and where is this titantic struggle to be played?

Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. 8PM Friday

What does everyone think is best/worst case scenario for both teams?

Best- St. X: Win in a hard fought low scoring game with Noah Houk in the game making things happen while Trinity keys on Charles Walker.

Worst- St. X: Try to split time between Houk and Nagle because they're "both good enough to play". Trinity scouted really well and Coach Wolford did not make adjustments leading to huge questioning from the St. Xavier alumni who thought he was the answer to the problems.

Best- Trinity: Receivers come to play and help Bonnafon move the ball leading to the streak of wins by Trinity over St. Xavier to go to 7 in a row. Defense gets to Walker early and often banging him up to where he is unable to finish the game.

Worst- Trinity: Bonnafon has to do it all on his own, defensive line is pushed back and manhandled. Trinity is out hustled and fall to a record of 2-4.

Many times people say the regular season game doesn't mean much, but it is huge in finally finding out what these teams are all about this season. St. Xavier has only play two tough teams and lost both times, while Trinity has played tough teams every game so far and only won twice. Will the winner of this game be the same in November? Maybe. We'll get a better idea on Friday night! I'm ready! I hope both teams put on a great show for everyone in attendance.

For me, X splitting time will be the worst thing. Splitting time at QB is not good for anyone. You have to dance with who brought ya!

The X secondary has to make plays. Not necessarily INTs, but being in position to make plays and not getting beat deep. The DLine has to keep their rush lanes and not allow Reggie to break contain.

I hope the coaches are not out coached our out prepared like they were against Bowling Green. I think nerves for this game are starting to kid in right about now.
