Interesting point you bring up VOR regarding CovCath's potential inability to sustain drives. So do you kick off deep and hope they cannot drive 70+ yards or do you pooch kick every time so that they cannot potentially get a big return?

Do you like a good High School rivalry? This one fits the bill whenever the 2 play.....

 

Doesn't matter who's up or who's down it always seems to be a very good game.

The bottom line is that the defense needs to play better. Giving up way to many yards and points for arguably the most talented team in a long time. The bend dont break defense needs to get better. Now I am not jumping ship by no means. Im sure JH and PT are solid teams but if you look at both those games on paper HHS margin of victory should have been bigger. I understand they were on the road and the travel and all that good stuff but if the Cov- Cath game is 28-25 in the fourth pressure will be big time on HHS I believe and they may not pull it out. Before everybody starts jumping on me let me tell you that i am a HHS fan and followed them pretty close for a while now but over the last 7 years this team seams to be more suspect to lose to CCH than any of them. Now with the players being out for Cov-Cath I dont think they will overcome that this time but if they were healthy I think this team would be ripe for the picking. Go birds!

 

Interesting take. I have one problem with it though. As far as looking at the John Hardin game on paper, are you referring to the stats from the game? I ask because JH had more yards, greater time of possession and won the turnover battle. If you were to look at the stats from that game, you would think JH would have won that game. Just saying.

I think that's his point, that the D is giving up many more yards and points than they should.

Birds defense has not been good of late. At JH the lead ballooned too large and there was a letdown. At PT they came out very lackluster; for goodness sake they couldn't even break the paper the cheerleaders were holding up. The defense made some progress early holding PT to two field goals that easily could have been touchdowns. I don't think the emotions will be an issue this week but Highlands needs to come out and play football from the get go or this one could be real close. Interesting score to watch from Friday will be PT vs Henderson. Might be a tipoff to what kind of club PT really has.

I think Cov Cath needs a win to keep this a real rivalry.

Kind of a boring pre-game period with the CovCath injuries and being throttled by Moeller and then Highlands not trashing everyone by 40 points or more.

Frank was "the Man" and we all loved and respected him more than we ever told him.

 

He was one of those guys that like you said we could "egg him on" just to get a reation at not at his expense but ours. LOL

 

Frank loved Highlands and loved the kids and the History of the program...

 

He will be dearly missed:thumb:

Unless CCH shows Sat suddenly with kids who can run a 4.3-4.4/40 consistently play after play then I'm not really too concerned about HHS's "Defense". HHS won't see the kind of team speed they have faced 4 of the 5 games they have played so far the rest of the year then maybe with the exception of Warren Central. Period!

 

 

I agree with your point. I went to the game with a buddy from Ft Thomas and the speed by Paducah was much higher than what you see in Northern KY.

If Highlands pitches the shutout Sat and the Offense put ups 42 will the bigger question be?

 

 

If teams like JH and PT are that much better than CovCath? or is it just another week of "if we beat Highlands, we are the State Champions" or is Highlands just proclaiming another notch and sayin Ninety something and two:thumb:
