I look at like this, I think it's possible that BG is the best team in the state THIS year. I think Trinity has the best program and year in and out will have the best or 2nd best team.... They have all the advantages.

From what you saw, are the blunders in this game and possibly in the first two games due to the X players still trying to get down the new system or just blunders that occur with 15-17 year olds.

Just to refresh everyone's memory, Trinity has played Bowling Green 5 times in the past. All were actual games, not scrimmages. The first game was in 1974. They have played each other several games recently, the last one as recent as 2010. They have never beaten the Rocks although some of the games were very close. They then chose to not schedule us again. I wish they would.

What type of hardcore proof are you lookig for? I don't think you will see emails posted up from coaches or AD's requesting games and then a reply saying "no thanks".

 

All I know is I remember Trinity AD Dennis Lampley was running around like a nut back in late 2010 and into 2011 trying to fill up the 2011 schedule and trying to contact anyone he could find to play T and eventually having to go out of state for all non district games, hence the nationally ranked schedule Trinity had in 2011 and continues on. I know Dennis did this because I would often be sitting across the table with him and it would come up in conversation. Of all the KY teams he was calling/emailing, I can't imagine BG would not have been one of them. If Bowling Green did turn down T, I do not blame their coach and possibly their AD because back about a decade ago when KHSAA members tried unsuccessfully to force private schools to have their own state championships, when the attempt failed, numerous coaches and AD's were told not play many of the privates, particularily Trinity. This quiet boycott seems to be getting a little better. T and Ballard almost were scheduled to pay. 8 years ago that probably would have never happened.

I don't care who is considered #1 in the state, I don't have a dog in this fight. It looks like BG is the consensus, so I looked up the remaining schedule. The Ky teams left on the BG schedule have national rankings of:

The two TN. teams are state rank 10 and 5

and nationally ranked 358 and 180.

 

If BG gets beat by any of the KY teams, or gets beat handily by the TN. teams, we may have to reconsider who is #1.

BG was looking for the Birds in the state finals on 05 and 06 and they were nowhere to be found. You remember 05 don't you? StX put a running clock on you. BG lost 13-7. There is a reason H won't schedule X and T. That is why. If they don't play them they make silly proclamations.
