We can talk about Bowling Green all we want but until...

Seriously, who really cares about this? BG, T, H and X (along with a bunch of other programs) are great football programs. I support H, and my main goal for them is for them to win a state title this year. My secondary goal is for them to win games. I suspect the goals are pretty much the same for T, X and BG. I hope T beats the hell out of Colerain and Moeller this year, and I hope BG beats the crap out of the TN schools they play this season, and I hope H steamrolls Elder this year.

They can lose to those teams and we are all told how great GCL teams are how it is much better football than X and T. But if H plays X and T and loses then they have no leg to stand on in the we are the greatest proclamations. Losing to a GCL team, they can still make those proclamations.

Colerain is not a GCL team, but they are headed to the ville to play T Friday night. They play good football across the river from our neck of the woods, and this should be a dandy. If you haven't seen the Cincinnati teams in person, your missing quite a show. Hope both teams come out injury free.

GO ROCKS!!!!

How many BG fans will be hoping that the Rocks lose? Dumb question?

I'm not a BG fan but I'm hoping for a T win. I want all KY teams to beat out of state teams.

I may not be a BG fan so to speak but I do respect the heck out of what they've done the last 2+ years.

Pretty special to be 32-0 and counting.

I still think T is the best team in the state and as good as BG senior class is, let's not forget that Highlands has a pretty special Sr class themselves.

BG has been touted like this before and we saw what happened when they played the Birds.

Bottom line, T and H are the two best teams in the state until someone proves they can beat them in KY.

Touted as better than the Birds? When? In this fashion? Please refresh my memory.

I hope they lose to St. X. Straight up. No lies from me. I want to be the best and shame on anyone who doesn't want the same.

I think it is funny that Highlands beats Bryan Station and they think they are better than BG. In 2013.

I'm I that far off base when I say mediocre? The Tigers have some great players, but something just isn't right. I hope they get it going before it's too late.

Didn't understand your grammar, but yes even with their issues on Friday they are not a mediocre team. They just lost to a better team Friday and had some mental lapses, doesn't make them mediocre.

X on their worst day isn't a mediocre team. Some years they might be considered a mediocre X team but that's a whole different definition. A mediocre X team still beats 90% of the state, maybe more.

This is one of those rare years where a team like Bowling Green(2011&2013), Boyle County(2009), LexCath(2007or 2008?), CovCath(2006?) has one of those special teams that their supporters and some neutral observers feel like they can not only compete with but defeat the hierarchy of Trinity and Highlands. It's great for the kids who live it, it's great for the coaches and parents who live it, it's great for the fans who are proud of it and it is great for the state as well. I am enjoying every minute of this and I am grateful to be a fan of two different programs who have had these types of years. I hope no one has any hard feelings over anything said on here. At the end of the day it is all love.

Good luck on Fridays!! :thumb:

Exactly, but unfortunately there are others that tend to lump in previous history to define a team which isn't fair at all. BG could be the best team in the state this year but will be brushed off by others simply because they haven't won 5 years in a row.

sometimes there are teams that come along that are very special for a single year and unfortunately by some are forgotten as soon as the season is over about how great they really were just so others can turn the attention back to their own schools history of success simply because their history at the time is longer.

Spot on PP... Super post:thumb:

they play and beat Trinity on a consistent basis they are not and they will not be the best team in KY.

And I love me some Bowling Green Purples (I am sipping the Purple Juice) but you have to do more than beat X and talk about your tough games with John Hardin.

I don't believe any public school in Kentucky will ever be the "best" team in Kentucky. I do believe a public school can be the best team in Kentucky for a particular year. That's the best we (public schools) can hope for.

Amen Brother!!!!

Some just refuse to understand or are unwilling to admit that there really is a disadvantage in some cases.
