The McDonald's in Taylor Mill just off I275 is worse.

 

As a general rule, McDonald's is not very good at drive thru service. Even with their dual lanes at many locations, they are average at best.

 

If you want real fast food from a drive thru, go to Wendy's. I don't know how they do it and what their process is, but every Wendy's is incredibly fast. I have been to numerous Wendy's locations and had my food sitting there at the window ready before I even hand them the money.

 

 

Stopped there once after a cross-country meet years ago. Maybe 20 or 30 of us at about 2:00 in the afternoon.

 

They had to go to another establishment to get change.

I haven't been there in a long time, but the Arby's in Bellevue was the slowest and worst fast food restaurant ever.

We no longer have it, but the Dairy Queen in Lancaster was horribly slow. We always joked that you couldn't go through the drive-thru low on gas or you'd run out. One summer night before it closed my wife and I went through at 8pm looking to get two ice cream cones. They told us they had already shut down the ice cream maker. 8 at night. Summer. DAIRY Queen! Needless to say they closed shortly thereafter. But to tell the truth, I do miss it!

McDonalds in Bellevue is the "absolute slowest" of all McDonalds. On more than one occasion I have pulled out of line and driven off after giving my order because it was so slow. I'm sure this made for some screwed up orders.

 

I feel like the Bardstown location would make for a formidable championship bracket matchup. Bardstown might get the nod, however, because not only is it painfully slow after breakfast, but it's freaking awful in terms of food quality.

In general, I rarely go to drive-thrus any more. I think the vast majority of the time, you're better off to park, walk in, and get an order to go. It's easier to double-check your order, and I've found it's almost always faster than the drive-thru line.

It's funny you say that, because that was always my thought until this morning. I stopped by McD's next to Dixie this morning for some breakfast. The drive thru line was about 3 car lengths shy of the entrance. I parked and went inside where there were 3 people in line. Low and behold, I stood there and watched the food fly out the drive-thru window while those inside stood and waited. The car that would have been in front of me had I stayed in line was getting their food just as I placed my order.

So they keep that at a higher pace so they don't "lose" any money by people getting fed up and pulling out of line before they get to the pay window.

If the drive thru line is long, I always peek in to see if there is a line inside. If there is any kind of line inside, stay in your car. If no line inside, then obviously go for it.

 

Addendum ... I posted this before reading nees1212's posts above. His posts verify what I am saying here. If there is any line inside, just stay on your car.

Lol, I was talking more on the lines that all taco bell products look the same.

If they have a Drive Thru they are Fast Food, and yes Steak and Shake is slow. Culvers is also very slow, but not Steak and Shake slow!

I also think that Skyline and Culvers are the kinds of places that could get rid of their drive thru, and it would not hurt them. I never go there if I'm in a hurry.

In general, McDonald's seem to be slow and Wendy's seems to be the fastest. They usually have the food hanging out the window before I even pull up.

Arbys. Has to be the slowest, no matter where you go.

Arby's in Ft. Wright, drives me nuts.
