Secondly, how pathetic has the religious right become?

Why? Because I'm being honest about this, where others prefer to make jokes? It's not that they aren't funny, but it just goes to illustrate my point further — if we're going out of our way to make all kinds of jokes on here about homosexuality, what's going on in a locker room that oozes testosterone through the cracks in the wall, a locker room where most of the inhabitants are in a perpetual state of arrested development?

Nope. I'd be flattered if he was checking me out. I do know plenty of people who aren't NBA players who will tell you straight up that they would never knowingly take a public shower with a gay guy in the same showers. I have hard time believing that a decent size percentage of the NBA players wouldn't think the same.

 

The same mindset that didn't want Magic Johnson's sweat to touch them if he played again is still alive in the locker room. It's naive to believe otherwise. I'd hope they are all mature enough to handle having a gay teammate but I don't have faith in their maturity. They all won't be supportive like Kobe is.

That's because people were ignorant. I was in high school and even I knew he couldn't spread the disease by sweating on players. It was the All Star game when Karl Malone was talking crap about Magic and playing with him. Enough was known at that time to know Magic wasn't going to infect anyone by playing.

You bring up a valid point about the ridicule Christians do endure in today's world. But in fairness it is not as if Tebow is breaking any barriers or considered brave for being evangelical.

I've not read this entire thread so forgive me if this has already been addressed.

 

Why is this such a big deal? There are openly gay women in the WNBA, LPGA, WTA, Elite Level Softball. Does this mean that a mans feelings and rights are more important than a womans?
