Chris Broussard comment. I don't remember Chris being so vocal about Lebron having kids out of wedlock.

 

To be fair, Broussard listed out several other sins (adultery, fornication, divorce, etc.) as being equal. He wasn't brought on air to talk about Lebron's kids out of wedlock.

It's a matter of being consistent. If he's going to call a player out for a sin(which I'm cool with) then he has to call out his boy Lebron as well. Simple as that. Otherwise, you come off as being against sin "unless it's by one of your friends."

The other guy (LZ Granderson, who is gay) brought up his beliefs on it, and he responded to it. Had he been asked about Lebron's situation and not responded in a similar way, I would agree.

 

He compared it to having heterosexual pre-marital sex, saying that any sex outside of marriage is a sin....Which is a terrible argument IMO, because homosexuals aren't given the opportunity to have sex inside of marriage.

Not sure how you can say it's not a big deal, when we have ZERO active players in the NFL, MLB, NHL or NBA that are out until this point. You can't say there are no gay players in pro-sports, because there have been several players come out once they retired-- that clearly indicates a pressure of some kind to hide it.

 

For other celebrities, it isn't really a big deal any more. The stigma for your Neil Patrick Harris or Cooper Anderson is mostly gone, but that's only because others had to risk their careers to be out, and some had their hand forced by blackmail or tabloids.

 

And if you think that these athletes and celebrites coming out doesn't matter, tell that to some frightened and bullied queer kid who could really use someone to look up to and is maybe trying to find the courage not to hide who he is from his friends and family.

With Collins I'd say probably not. But what if it was LeBron, Kobe, or Melo? Game changes then...
