I tend to think this way but I also think it'd be pretty easy to hide if you truly don't want anyone to know. They may have suspected it but knowing for certain is way too hard to prove unless you hang with him all of the time. Collins will be one of the first to tell you that black people can be some of the biggest homophobes on the planet. Homosexuality has never been accepted in the black community as a whole. That is likely part of the reason behind Collins' statement...I am black. I am gay.

Not sure why it is necessary to make such an announcement just as it is not necessary for others to announce that they are straight. In the big scheme of things his sexual preference should be his own personal business and not something for the entire country to talk about.Either way I wish him the best of luck.

Exactly. He's a free agent. Chances of him getting re-signed are slim and none anyway, and this pretty much puts the nail in the coffin, IMO.
