Now lets lock up Newman, Kennard, and two of Skal/Bragg/Rabb and call it a class.

Hope we can still get Luke, it would work with him, Matthews, and Newman 1-3, but when you factor in Ulis and Booker it may start to get a little crowded. Getting the feeling K is selling him on coming to Duke and running the show and being the man ala JJ Redick. At Kentucky he would get half the shots and half the attention. He's a team guy so sharing isn't necisarily the issue, however, passing up an importunity to go to Duke and have offense run through you is something that will be hard to pass up.

I'd love for the Cats to get one kid that was just an absolute killer form the outside...the kid that when he shoots you expect it to go in not hope that it will.

Could be Booker next season, hopefully it will be Kennard in this class.

Archie was supposed to be that guy. Young was supposed to be that guy.

I don't think those were rational expectations though. Archie was a slasher by definition and people knew Young was streaky. He's got a sweet stroke so its tricky, but numbers dont lie. He was seen as a type that can get buckets in all facets with good outside game. Too streaky to be a knock down guy tough. Also the volume of shots he was able to take in high school also helped, you watch him hit five or six threes and you think wow (until you see that stat sheet says he took 13-14). Archie had a horrible perimeter game (flattest shot I've ever seen), but like Young was able to get shots up in high school so obviously he's going to hit some.

As it sits Lamb is really the only knock down shooter in Cal era. You could argue Knight but I think Lambs the only true shooter. Hoping Booker could be that guy, having Blackmon would have helped as well.

Who in the world called Archie a knock down shooter???

Apparently I'm misremembering that one... :lol2:

Just seems like a lot of guys get hyped as great shooters out of HS and never get close to that level in college.

Ky needs this kid bad imo.. I am so tired of watching the kids on this years team miss wide open jump shots..

Like Kennard is visiting Duke this weekend.
