April 7, 201313 yr Just seeing the "sophomore" label besides Towels name makes me want to punch Joker.
April 7, 201313 yr I think that Smith or Towles will ultimately end up the starter and I would give the early edge to Smith, due to past performance and experience.
April 9, 201313 yr I just wish they'd move Whitlow to WR. Either of these QB's will be a good choice, he can fill a need at WR and succeed.
April 9, 201313 yr From what I've seen on the field from the three choices, as well as how I've seen the offense ran at Texas Tech and Troy, I believe Max Smith is the best option. Of course he's had trouble staying healthy, Towles basically had a year of his career wasted, and Whitlow was tossed into a hopeless situation by a lame-duck staff. So it's hard to say. But I'd still say Smith at first blush.
April 9, 201313 yr Towels. This is a QB-maker offense and his physical tools are better than Smith's IMO. Lower floor, higher ceiling. Time to get risky.

April 10, 201313 yr I was able to watch some of the spring practices and I thought Towles was the best of the group.
