May 15, 201313 yr ^ It is. Something tells me it won't be the last time we hear it. Cal comes up with about three new quotes each summer & then repeats them throughout the following basketball season. I'm thinking this will be one of them.
May 15, 201313 yr He definitely needs to improve his free throw shooting. If he doesn't the defense will not allow him anything easy inside the paint. Teams will take their chances on his poor % from the line, and that would make him a liability in close games in the final minutes. The thing about his foul shooting is that his form didn't look terrible. He actually had a decent looking shot. I don't believe he shot with much confidence, however. Hopefully with more work, he'll see improvement, and be a more confident shooter next season.
May 15, 201313 yr Thanks--That was my reason for asking, as KY will bring back another top 10 talent, and one who may turn out to be in Cawley-Stein. Now they need to get a top 10 motor from Poythress on a consistent basis, which he did show at times. They should be OK!! Noel wasn't even in the top 5 for the class of 2013 before he reclassified I believe and that was before Wiggins reclassified as well. This class is LOADED!
May 15, 201313 yr Noel wasn't even in the top 5 for the class of 2013 before he reclassified I believe and that was before Wiggins reclassified as well. This class is LOADED! Most had Noel in the top 3 with Randle and Parker. A few had the Harrisions mixed into one of the spots instead of Noel...
May 15, 201313 yr Not Jerry Tipton @NotJerryTipton GPA's for the Spring semester have been released, and Kentucky's was a 3.4. (Which is good, but not nearly as impressive as UNC's 5.8.)
May 15, 201313 yr Dan Bodner @KYHoopsBuzz Calipari on Dominique Hawkins: "You always want to coach guys who understand... With what I just went through, I wanted a tough point guard" ^ Wow.
May 15, 201313 yr Dan Bodner @KYHoopsBuzz Calipari on Dominique Hawkins: "You always want to coach guys who understand... With what I just went through, I wanted a tough point guard" ^ Wow. Definitely doesn't shy away from the truth. But he's right, the whole team lacked physicality.

May 15, 201313 yr My early stab at the depth chart: G. Andrew Harrison G. Aaron Harrison C. Willie Cauley- Stein F. Julius Randle F. Alex Poythress G. James Young C. Dakari Johnson F. Kyle Wiltjer F. Marcus Lee G. Jarrod Polson G. Dominique Hawkins F. Jon Hood F. Derek Willis 2nd 5 G. Young G. Hawkins F. Lee F. Wiltjer C. Johnson They could sell tickets to this 5 on 5 practice. Intra-Team Competition will be a huge advantage for this team, rarely will any player get pushed harder in a game than they will practice.
May 15, 201313 yr Seriously, how many players will be able to match up with Goldie's boy, Randle. Is this the mismatch that will set the Cats apart this season?
May 16, 201313 yr Even though Wiggins-less; I love the fact that I keep reading repeatedly by the recruiting experts, scouts, etc. about these players, and consistently keep hearing words like highly competitive, tough, hates to lose, physical, high-motor, killer instinct, etc. Most of this has been missing since Nerlens went down, although we saw some spurts from the returning guys, especially Willie.
