Imagine it like this: Let's say Randy & SportsGuy play on the same high school team. Randy is a senior, but is basically the 11th or 12th man. SportsGuy is a sophomore but leads the team in scoring at 20 ppg. We're on a road trip and when we get to the locker room to change into our uniforms, SportsGuy realizes he brought his home white instead of the road blue. It's an honest mistake. If you're the coach, do you ask Randy--who is the same size as SportsGuy--to give his uniform to the better player? Or does SportsGuy (and the team) have to pay for his mishap & sit this one out?

 

It's a no-brainer to me.

But, under your example, do you ever get in the games? Will it be a close game or a possible blow out?

 

But lets say it's some low level college team and they have no equipment manager. If a player forgets something like a jersey, they need to learn to be responsible.

Believe me, I'm not taking anything away from Polson, I love the kid. He is the epitome of what it takes to put on the blue and white. I'm just looking at it from a jersey standpoint.

I pretty much agree on everything, especially with the whole "shooooot" thing. I knew Polson was a pretty good player from what I had read about and saw in the sweet 16 his senior year. He had a nice stat line as well, but more importantly you could see he had some athleticism as well and that's what it takes at that level. You can be as skilled as you want (like a lot of KY kids are eky especially), but without the top notch athleticism it isn't going to matter. I paid more attention to Polson once Cal offered the spot to Elisha Justice. I had watched Elisha play often from the time he was in 8th grade playing varsity, I knew he had some game. So after he declined and Cal offered the spot to Polson I learned a lot about him. From what I got he was at least as good as Elisha but some would say he's better. Moral of the story was I knew him and Elisha both could get minutes at that high of level, even if it took a couple of seasons. I've often wondered if Elisha may have regretted not coming after seeing the oppurtunity Polson had last season. He got to play at Lville and ultimately went there because he liked Pitino and wanted to get into coaching after playing. BUT, I didn't like how Pitino basically played him out of position at the 2. He was quick enough to defend but Justice was a pure point guard if I had ever saw one. Double wammy for him missing out on a championship at UK, then one at Lville after transferring back to Pikeville. Has to sting a little bit you think but I applaud the kid for doing what's best for him. I just wonder what may have been different if Elisha accepted the spot instead of Polson.

Wait, what??????? A Harrison twin took Polson's #5? Despicable. I tell you UK basketball is giving me all kinds of ammo this summer. FIrst Cal ruined the Ky/In All Star game and now this? The Harrison twins have managed to join the PP92 Hate List at an early age. That's not a good sign for some possible future NBA players. I'll be watching, Twins, with a 50 pound bag of salt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going home for the rest of the summer is what I've read, I think he's supposed to be back in the fall. Doesn't matter to me either way.
