March 19, 201313 yr I think you guys are selling Goodwin short, I think it would be a great addition to next years team. He will have another season to develop, grow, mature, learn. He would be a nice skill set to add to next years squad, he will give them another element when hes in the game. With all the talent and versatility Kentucky will have next season, he will not have to be your #1 scoring option, his skill set adds a nice element to go along with what everybody else can do. Agree!!!!
March 19, 201313 yr I hope Poythress and WCS come back. Also, Wiltjer lift a weight, or take a boxing class this off season and youghen up son. Wiltjer should do nothing but speed and agility training in the off season.
March 19, 201313 yr Name a guy that went from a low motor type to a high motor type. It isn't a switch you turn on, its your personality... I think Prince was a low motor guy. He had the laid back California attitude and did not look like he was playing hard especially as a freshman. Given time Poythress may develop espically next year when he has real talent able to push h and compete for his minutes. Competition breeds success.

March 19, 201313 yr Sure it will next year but what about the year after that or the next year? Just because you go to UK doesn't mean you only can stay one or two years. Maybe college is the peak for Alex or Archie but maybe it isn't. You see a lot of raw talent in both (way more so than guys like Jorts or Liggins) and there's no shame in playing 3/4 years in college. Come back, work hard, get an education and see what happens. You make a great point. IMO, 3/4 years is what would be best for all four of the freshman this year. Sadly, that thought never crossed my mind. Makes me wonder what thoughts they have about their careers. I've officially been sucked into the one and done era. There's no shame in staying 3/4 years especially when it is needed. I hope they make the right choice for themselves and their futures by staying at UK as long as they need to. It would be hard to come back if they are first round locks but with where they are at on the court they all should come back with the exception of Noel but even he could use at least one more year of school.

March 20, 201313 yr ^ Poythress also says he's returning. Which is the smart thing to do IMO, if tonight showcased anything it's that none of those guys are ready for the big show. I know the arguments out there to take the money, or should I say steal the money while you can. BUT, people's reasoning is that they will have limited roles next year, well I say you do know you can stay in college for more than 1 or 2 years (even though it don't seem like it since cals been here). People often forget that freshman usually play like freshman, cals guys usually are judged on a different scale than most. Truth is these guys aren't your typical one and done talents and they never were, the calipari hype machine is what's responsible for their high draft position to begin with. The way I see it if guys Iike Tim Hardaway jr, victor oladipo, Ryan Kelly, etc. can turn into the players they are then I don't see why this years frosh can't for Kentucky. None of those guys were NBA players as frosh, now they are, it just takes some guys longer to put it together. I also look at guys like draymon green, jae crowder, festus ezili, chandler parsons, Tyler zeller, etc. and see that with some seasoning in college they can go from good college players to bleak NBA future, to rookie rotation guys. Once again, with some seasoning and another season or two to really be challenged in practice every day with real talent (face it they barely had enough to scrimage this season and that's with Malone, long, and lanter) these guys can grow into NBA players they were once projected to be. People under estimate the value of competetion in practice, look no further than jorts, liggins, Darius, and even Polson as examples of what every day battles in practice can do for your game. They were put into a bad spot this year due to lack of depth. I look forward to seeing the improvement in all of the frosh that will return and expect that they will be key contributors next season.

Media and fan hype helped that as well. Preseason #3 got some carried away from the start.

I'd guess he would probably rather go out to dinner with Tyreke Evans then to have to coach these guys anymore this season. For those who don't know those two are rumored to not have the best relationship. In reality though I think he is relishing in the fact there's going to be some guys next season who show this years guys what it's all about to play for the university of Kentucky. I think he knows it will force these guys to come around or fade into the abyss, he will have the learning tools he did not have this season.
