Not a hidden gem, or even a gem, but the Dunkin Donuts in Florence (across from Mickey D's before Pleasant Valley) closed -- That place was PACKED every morning. Shocker.

 

:wideyed: I made a delivery in there the beginning of last week. I guess the free donuts they gave me everytime I had a delivery finally caught up with them. :lol2:

 

It was owned by the Patel family.....although which Patel family I have no idea, there are about a gazillion Patels in Florence/Union, and they own every Subway, liquor store, and "roach" motel in the area. :lol2:

Was that somewhere that I missed or do you just have some proprietary info? I hadn't heard that, but yes, that will expedite a closing.

Bella Luna on Eastern Ave in Cincy, just down from Terrry's Turf Club. On Wednesdays bottles of wine are 1/2 price.

Have two newer restaurants to share both located across the street from Crossroads church in Oakley. In new shopping center complex.

 

Ladles is a quaint soup and sandwich shop. Have been twice and have enjoyed both meals tremendously. Grilled Mediterranean Cheese sandwich on rye is the bomb. And their soups are outstanding ( buffalo chicken / broccoli and cheddar are stellar ). You can taste test their many soups while waiting in line to order. Avg. cost about $10 per meal.

 

Next door to ladles in MOD Pizza. Think the Subway of Pizza. You order a base pizza and then add fixins. An 11" pizza with drink will run you about $10 as well. I have been here twice as well and have enjoyed both meals. Co-workers are leaving happy as well with their meals.

 

Check them out folks...I think you'll leave happy and full!

Finally had a chance to use my Groupon for Eighteen. The newly remodeled revolving restaurant in Covington. It was pretty good. Seating was different. Looks like more set up for banquets, buffets etc.

seems they lacked a few details on finishing the place.

Not cheap for sure.

Has anyone been to the Nittha Siam Kitchen in Highland Heights? I love Thai, and I love spicey...and apparently they're REALLY good at both of those. It's also tough to turn down good Ramen at Asian restaurants. I think I might have to give it a try when I'm up in NKY between Christmas and New Years.

The Little Dawgs and I went to Noce's Pizza in Edgewood after shopping on Monday. Had acquired a gift card in an auction and put it to use. Everyone had their own dish (pizza for me and one of the boys, a calzone for the other, and the DD had a hoagie), plus shared an order of bacon cheese fries. Wasn't overly expensive, and the food was legit. Dude that waited on us could've been a little more excited about being there, but it won't keep me from going back.

Hmmm ... I'll have to give another try. I have not been impressed with Noce's in the past.

Did Drake*s in Florence for the second time yesterday. Really like the place.
