Finally made it to The Eagle in OTR Saturday night.....Had heard nothing but great things, so expectations were incredibly high, and it blew them out of the water....Phenomenal. We got 2 orders of Brown Sugar Bacon (if you like Bacon, you should probably just order 4 of these and call it a meal), a side of their 5 cheese Mac & Cheese, a side of their homemade spoon bread, and 2 fried chicken sandwiches (the spicy pickles and mayo are out of this world good). To top off the great taste, it cost less than $30 for all of it.

 

One downside is the wait. When we got there (7:45) we were told they couldn't guarantee us a seat until midnight. We were the 41st group on the wait list. Ended up getting seated around 9, and that's only because we're friends with a server.

Read about it recently. Sounds like the "meatballs" can be of different meats - not just beef.

While the wait stunk, the food itself was well worth it. Fairly large portions as well IMO.

They have done a nice job with the building. For those over 40, it is where Rust's restuarant used to be.

I really appreciate all these posts, especially the ones on the new restaurants! At my age, I need all the help I can get with new and exciting places to take Mrs. nkypete on "date night"!

Wait, you mean there's a time when the Waffle House or Dairy Queen aren't good enough?!?

We did the Argentine Bean Saturday night in Crestview hills. Very nice. Slow paced and sort of artsy fartsy. Made for a nice date night.

I'm always surprised the place is still open. I rarely see people in there despite hearing it's pretty good.
