Also heard that location was potential for El Coyote. They still considering guys and dolls in Cold Spring? I haven't heard anything or seen any movement in that building.

I hope they keep the Champagne salad dressing, and the Red Velvet cake. Incorporating the eggplant (if they can duplicate it) from F&N would be twice as nice.

This was the place we used to take our dates to before formal dance's at NewCath back in the day. Food was AWESOME, but I always felt like I was in an old English castle. There was never enough light to see what the hell you were eating.

 

A friend of mine worked there during our Jr. & Sr. year (83 &84) and during baseball season this was the place ALL the major leaguers, Reds & visiting team, would come to eat after the game.

F&N had great prime rib in addition to the eggplant. It was probably good that the place was dark, especially in the later years. :sssh:

^ When you walked in you saw one of the problems right away, most of the customer base was in their 60's and up, not too many younger people and never was there anything done to bring them in. I kind of liked the interior to a point, especially the bar area, it wasn't like the crap you see every where else, where every where else looks the same. I agree that the last few years it went down hill, the ribs were still good, but when two of the daughters put the incoming money up their noses, that tends to happen.

 

I wonder what ever happened to te daughters and Bill's second wife? They lived large in the 80's.

I've been there 10 times this year, and I love the place. Their steaks are great, but I'm definitely a rib guy when I go. Their house salad dressing and vegetable soup are both fantastic as well, and of course, no trip would be official without baskets of the rye bread. Thanks for bringing this thread forward!
