How do you know they have one of the biggest gates? Go to a game. Stands are half full except for Cov Cath and Elder. No one else comes from other schools. You have the HHS side and the other side looks like a freshman girls bball game (parents only). AND because they can't find anyone to play them around here, they also have the largest bill to pay!! It doesn't matter how much you bring in if your outgoing is larger!

 

And yes, not understanding the commitment level or agreement that was given by him and the school, I would absolutely support him doing what's best for his program and his kids first. Any coach would.

 

I have been to their games. Attendance is down everywhere in our area. That doesn't mean you keep charity money. If you don't have a problem with that conduct, that is your right. I do, and anyone that wants to talk about someone keeping their word should as well.

You are wrong. Dale knew very much about it. No one in the association ever thought that it would require a signature to have coaches uphold their promise to a scholarship fund. Once again, the hypocrasy hold no bounds. Dale DID intend to participate in the event, and made it clear in the meetings. He did not say when he was keeping the money that there was any misunderstanding, he said he didn't make enough money this year and was keeping the Potter gate due to a lack of gate from NKY competition.

 

Honestly, at this point...get over it. If you know about it, then others do. You seem to be the only one on here making a big deal about it. Either you're trying to divert attention Ryle, have some stock in the fund or are just a Dale/HHS hater. You're one guy. Apparently noone else feels it's a big deal or it would have had its own post!

Ryle just put on the listerv that they are looking for a game either week 4 or week 10, so they don't have anyone lined up.

LN is almost the only rational poster to have made a comment in this thread. He said he would have a problem with BOTH coaches if they did what was mentioned in this thread. He is not trying his best to make excuses. It seems that fans on both sides have a blind eye when it comes to their coach.

Outlandish! It sounds like you have been hanging around UK fan and have your own version of facts. IMO sale the story to The National Enquirer. Dale and staff are great coaches and motivators and set the example for our kids, no way this occurred and if it did I see a Union tilt on it. I am certain Dale did what was in the best interest of kids, school and community. I would love to take a pot shot at Warner but I would not hide behind a forum to do so! I have made respect for Dale and Weinrich, and I did not grow up in the community.

Wait, there was no signed contract for Ryle to continue playing Highlands so Coach Warner backing out is ok with you. But, there was also no contract for Highlands to contribute to this scholarship fund and you are not ok with Mueller backing out. Kind of hypocritical, don't you think?

Ryle dropped Highlands, as many other teams have done so. There are certainly many reasons to why, one of which being Ryle has been on the low end of the scoreboard in all but 1 attempt, which coincidentally was the most decorated team in Ryle history. The Ryle football team has had great success under warner and will find it again.
