Ryle cancels series against Highlands!!!

As much as a beating that Ryle has taken in this thread , after giving HHS what 6, 8, 10 games, why would any NKy program want to schedule HHS? Is there no such thing as graditude or humility in Ft. Thomas!

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I may very well be, but 2010 was the first year of a 2 year deal, correct? So, 2010 and 2011 finished out the 2 year agreement. 2012 would have been the first year of another 2 year deal, leaving next year to see it to the end. So, after Dixie backing out for this year, and now Ryle for next year, who wouldn't be a little upset? What every team wants is to improve each and every year. To improve, you play a better team. Just because a school is a 6A team, doesn't automatically make them a powerhouse. Just because a team is a 2A or 4A team doesn't make them easy pickings. Sometimes scheduling just doesn't allow for certain matchups that "everyone" wants to see. It is what it is. Maybe in a couple of years, you may see a HHS and BG game. Who knows? But when you have some great teams right in your own backyard, no one should have to go out of state (unless you're Trinity and you really have no other choice.)

2010 was the last year of a two year contract. That was the last year Ryle and Highlands played two times per year. 2011/2012 was the next two year contract. Now teams will mostly sign two year contracts for 2013/2014.

Should've done some research, but I did find that HHS played Ryle as far back as 2007. 2008 started the two games per regular season. That's a fair amount of history and a good rivalry to let go of, for whatever reason. Maybe it has just run it's course and not had the intended effect on the Ryle program that was hoped for. It was great while it lasted and hate to see any hard feelings between each teams fans. Always enjoyed travelling to Ryle, everyone I ever had contact with was friendly and were gracious hosts. Could've done without last weeks weather conditions, but will miss the games between these two teams.

I always enjoyed games at Ryle. Very nice place to play a game.

try trinity, they only have 9 games every year.

HHS and Ryle only had the 2 games per year arrangement for 2009 and 2010. In 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012 the two programs played each other just once per year.

My apologies, getting old sucks...:ohbrother:

I'm not sure why there is so much made of Ryle cancelling. They stepped up and played us twice a year for several years. It's not like it is July and we can't find a game. There are two open dates to chose from (week 10 and the bye week). We will find a game to fill out the schedule.
