Ryle cancels series against Highlands!!!

You are truly something. The Ryle players will play as hard as they can so we will see what happens. However, your hatred towards Ryle is embarrassing.
You are wrong. I do not hate Ryle. It is a GREAT school. You were giving credit to coach Warner for the new field. Rodger Babik should get that. I have nothing but respect for the PLAYERS of Ryle and most of their coaches. IMHO they would be a better team with someone else running the program. ( Mike Woolf ) The fact is that after 10 years Ryle has an average record 7 and 5. I guess that is good enough for you.

IF Dale promised this past year's gate to the scholarship fund and IF he later reneged on that promise, not only my Dad would have problems with it, I would too.

I assume you likewise have problems with Warner backing out of his verbal agreement to play Highlands, correct?

Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer.

I personally want every NKy school to do well....except when they play HHS. From an outsider looking at the Ryle Program I believe they have underachieved most years. Warner and his Owen Hauck old school mentality doesn't work anymore. If the powers to be at Ryle are happy with that than so be it.. I just think they have a lot of talent in Union and don't take advantage developing it. For a school to average 7 wins and 5 loses since Warner has been there just seems a little underachieving to me...JMO :idunno: I say in two years when the new contracts are up Ryle will be right back asking Dale to play..The Raiders have a ton of younger talent coming up.. Lets hope it is not wasted..

That is far from the truth, but it seems you are interested in creating your own version of it.

We are thinking the same of you until you come with facts or proof. Just proving that we can put any version of the story on the Internet.

Again, since you didn't answer before, were you there? In the room when it happened? If not, then it's pretty cheap coming to the Internet making accusations to divert attention away from what the topic is really about.

Amen, we will soon get our internet version of this accusation. He is still typing it up!...LOL

I have an idea, ask ANY of the head coaches at the meeting. No I wasn't there, but I have spoken to two of the head coaches that were. It happened and I love that instead of admitting the flaws of the action you want to cry for some kind of proof. Under that mode of thought, maybe Dale dropped the Ryle game. I mean, what is your proof that he isn't the one at fault. Im guessing that he told you so. I am getting my information from the meeting in the same fashion.

I hate that I am going to have to agree with plain here but I as well have talked to 4 head coaches and was told all 4 times that there was an issue with Highlands and the Potter classic and funds. Seems to be a legit issue or major misunderstanding, as one coach called it.

Seems like wasted energy to me. He said this, he did that...blah, blah, blah

Highlands will find a replacement opponent and Ryle will continue with their mediocrity.

Does anyone have the "REAL" reason why this series was cancelled. I am sure Highlands will find someone else to play as will Ryle. I do not believe the Potter Classic stuff has anything to do with the situation, but certainly serves as a good deflection from the truth of why Ryle chose not to play.

Dale didn't drop the game. Yes, he told me so on Monday.

Anyone that watches and knows anything about football knows why Ryle dropped Highlands and it has nothing to do with the Tom Potter Classic.

Thats my point. You know that Dale didn't drop the game because he told you so. I know that he didn't pay the gate that he had promised because I have gotten the information from two head coaches that were at the meeting. My point is that you don't have to be somewhere to know what occured. I am aware that Coach Warner dropped the game and I am certain that what both of those head coaches have told me is correct.

I would say the real reason is that Coach Warner doesn't feel like the game is in the best interest of his program for the next two year cycle. Seems pretty simple.

Then why all of the other rhetoric? How can the game not be in the best interest of his program when his frosh teams have defeated the Birds each of the last 2 years. He put Colerain on his schedule and now drops Highlands? Just does not make sense to me.

The Raiders beat Boone County in 2005 at Ryle. You may have meant 2006.

A typo on my part. You are correct. Ryle lost at Dixie in 2005 and at Boone in 2006 and ended up tied with the respective teams with a 6-1 record for the regular season in the district during those 2 seasons. I assumed that when you lose head-to-head that you do not win the district title when it comes to a tiebreaker.

Of course it is blah blah blah when it comes to the Highlands head coach shafting the scholarship fund, but it is an atrocity that Coach Warner changes his mind on a playing contract. Give me a break. As far as mediocrity, I am aware of two schools in this state that have a winning record against Ryle in the last decade that play often during the regular season. I love how not winning a state title in 6A is mediocre. Newsflash is that no one has won state in the large class outside the city of Louisville in the last fifteen years. We saw what the best in 6A did to the mighty Birds in the preseason. They are on a flat different level that Highlands does not have to compete against to win state.
