Ryle cancels series against Highlands!!!

Featured Replies

The reasons given for the drop are pretty weak in my estimation. After what I witnessed on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, it is time for a changing of the guard at Ryle. The Owen Hauck style of play went out years ago and from what I have seen there are no Elliot's coming up in the very near future. Will be real interested to see who the Raiders pick up to replace this game.

In Ryle's defense, no one in NKy 6A could compete with HHS. In fact, Scott Co. is leap years ahead of anybody in this district and HHS handled them easily. I did not see them on the schedule for next year. I believe Scott C. and HHS would be a great series. Potentially competitive, without being overwhelming like a GCL opponent.

I agree that Scott County and Highlands would be a great series. I am sure the two teams would be playing again if things could be worked out. Having said that, I don't know why it can't be worked out. I know Scott County was a fill in for Dixie Heights this year.

Not correct. OH starts playoffs the same week as KY. (i.e. playoffs start this week in KY & OH)

I wasn't sure but thought I'd heard that.

Sixer is correct. Heck, we just saw Trinity play Moeller Saturday.

Usually yes, although I don't know if that is the case in this situation. Heck, I don't even know if the contract was signed yet. It may have been the case that Warner verbally told Dale that Ryle would play and Dale took his word on it. My Dad always told me if a man's word isn't any good, neither is his signature.

Warner may feel not playing Highlands is the best thing for his program at this point; but he shouldn't have agreed to play Highlands and then backed out.

Then your dad wouldn't respect Dale Mueller very much. He just walked into the last coaches' meeting in NKY and told the association, after he had promised the gate and promoted the scrimmage between them and Trinity as the Tom Potter classic, that he was keeping the money from the scrimmage because his gate was down due to lack of NKY scheduling. Maybe that is the reason Coach Warner chose to end the game. He might not enjoy being associated with people who take money from a scholarship fund. Who knows? Of course, his claim was that nobody from NKY played him out of district. Now, unlike at the time of the meeting, he will be correct. Ryle has played Highlands six times the last four years on both the varsity and JV levels. Of course, this doesn't change the fact that he is going back on HIS word and keeping money from a scholarship fund.

Good thing you are not the principal at Ryle.

Wouldn't that make you want to play Highlands even more and beat their brains in??? Quit making excuses for backing out!!

Your right....Because JOAT would fire the whole coaching staff..

I always thought they were one week apart. Maybe that has changed.

Ohio starts a week later. They must not have any byes like KY does.

Were you there???
Of course not! It's just fun for some people to say things on the Internet, without the need for any of that pesky reality being involved.

Are you saying that he can't be tight with someone that was there and is reporting accurately?
