I think this is his 10th year at Ryle. Over that 10 year Ryle has a record of 71 wins and 49 loses, with 20 playoff games. That works out to an average of a 7 win 5 lose season with losing in the second round of the playoffs. Successful ???

What I think probably happened is some people were assuming that Dale and Highlands would donate their gate and when it didnt happen it sunk the boat.

Somebody on here is having a very difficult time dealing with what happened and in some way I guess I could understand this especially if the fund was counting on it.

The problem is when you assume things you could find yourself getting desperate and doing silly things like comparing Dale to Warner and we all know how the ole saying goes...........................

 

I would like someone to publish some numbers on this whole scholarship fund. How much do they take in each yr and how much do they pay out. Maybe a breakdown of each team and game donation.

My thought would be maybe Highlands has donated sizable chunks in yrs past and when this one didnt happen it really hurt.

Maybe it would be best that a set $ amount is asked from each game instead of just saying give us your gate.

I could see some teams sending in $100 and maybe another team $3000.

No mention of H vs T being a part of 2012 on BGP - Also my Internet search turned of no mention of HHS only Ryle and CCH

Actually it does, ask any coach that was at the meeting. It happened and you are trying to figure out a way to make an excuse for it. The truth really hurts in this situation doesn't it.

What are you talking about Warner's word being worthless? No contract was signed. If any bodies word is worthless its Mueller for saying he would give up the funds for Tom Potter and then keeping the funds for Highlands.

 

There are two sides to every story. I'm not believing some internet cowboy until there are facts. You guys are acting like Dale is a goofball. He is one of the most respected coaches ever. By everyone. I'm sure there is a reason, IF what you say is true. I'm sure there is much more to the story.

Now we're getting somewhere. HHS participated in the past and they didn't this year. 3 years ago, Dale gave his word for that year. This year, no one confirmed with HHS. The association comes looking for the money and Dale says he never committed this year...which he didn't. The association, now upset and over committed in funds, blames Dale. Dale being the guy he is, offers to remove his team from consideration lesser the blow. But that's about all he can do.

 

 

And if he did do that the way you describe it, wouldn't we have heard something about it already??? Funny it comes up from a disgruntled Ryle fan after his 6A team is getting drilled for dropping a 4A team off the schedule.

Ryle will not be back soon, playing HHS every year made Ryle a better team. I guess, if wins are more important than playing a quality team,then go for it. What happens when Ryle plays a weaker schedule, then has to play X and T in the playoffs?Travis Elliot deserved every honor he recieved, he has graduated and it's time for Ryle to move on and let go of him.

 

Thats a lot of great things for the Ryle program you posted. The only thing about it is, no state titles. Yea, runner-up is ok, buy do you really want to hang your hat on that? I really do hope the Ryle program rights the ship, and figures out how to bring home a state title. Rome wasn't built in a day. Uniforms, is the least of Ryles concerns right now.

Who has the popcorn?

Soooooooooooo. with Cooper beginning to tast some success and arguably taking over as a the king of Boone Cty football, will they step up and take Ryle's spot in the schedule? or could it be the "bad boys" of Conner calling Dale. Typically Highlands has seen teams like Beechwood and most recently Ryle take the approach that the only way to get better is to play the best mentality. Both have recently resended and taken a much leaner approach but kudos to both while it lasted, great competition from both with Ryle getting the banquet win in 2010.

Is there anyone else I am missing out there in NKY that might want to play the Birds to prepare themselves for better competition? Anyone? :popcorn:
