Coach Warner listed 3 reasons for not continuing the series - neither of the 3 had anything to do with your allegation.

Is Mueller's word worthless? The point is that he has made a decision for his program. Keeping a gate is ridiculous.

 

Again, why are you avoiding the question? Why are you not riding Warner for going back on his word like you claim Dale did? Why the difference? Based on your posts, Dale should be ok since he didn't sign a contract either.

I still find it very amusing that people are critiquing Warner for going back on his word over this game when their head coach has gone back on his word for a scholarship program. The hypocrasy is endless. Warner is doing what he thinks is best for his program. I am sure the game will continue in the future.

No his word is not worthless, he is doing what is best for his team. You obviously have personal issues with him, so arguing with you is pointless. I will say this, he cares about his players and Ryle football, and if he and his staff feel like it is best to not play Highlands then I am 100% behind his decision.

You are a real unbiased source over anything involving Warner, that is obvious looking at you post through the years. Dale has committed a much more classless act by taking money back from a scholarship program than taking a game off of his schedule. The fact is you only see perfection in everything the birds do, which is a joke. Warner didn't hurt any kids in the area by taking that game off his schedule. The only good thing from this conversation is that he will likely make sure he still gives his own kid the scholarship that they will be missing out on, but what about the other kids that could get one from that gate. I wonder what Tom Potter would think about this? My bad, im sure you don't care about that either, speaking of sad.

Actually it does, ask any coach that was at the meeting. It happened and you are trying to figure out a way to make an excuse for it. The truth really hurts in this situation doesn't it.

Yes, it happened at the October NKY head coaches's meeting.

Also, is it definitely the case that this year's T vs. H scrimmage was actually part of this event? The Highlands-Bluebirds.com write-up for the T vs. H scrimmage at Highlands back in 2010 mentioned that the 2010 scrimmage was part of the classic, but the write-up for this year's T vs. H scrimmage at HHS mentioned nothing about it being part of the Tom Potter Classic.

I have no idea what happened at the meeting but I have found both coaches to be men of their word. As to canceling the series, Highlands is a well-coached machine and Ryle is not at that level. It seems to make sense to cancel the series from Ryle's standpoint. But, if there was a verbal agreement to play, I would take the loss and keep my word if I was a coach. I do not believe that cancelling the series has anything to do with funds from the Potter classic. Best wishes to both teams in the playoffs and in the future.

And you would be a real idiot to fire one of the most successful coaches in our area for the last decade? How many schools who have no tuition or out of district ability in their enrollment can say they have had a winning record for the last decade, including two twelve win seasons and an appearance in a state finals. You folks simply don't like him because of his charming personality. However, he has been successful.

I think this is his 10th year at Ryle. Over that 10 year Ryle has a record of 71 wins and 49 loses, with 20 playoff games. That works out to an average of a 7 win 5 lose season with losing in the second round of the playoffs. Successful ???
