The only player I see on the roster that is 5'5 , 140 lbs is the son of one of the coaches.

I find it odd that kid would crack like this, this far into the season. He has already been through spring conditioning, summer conditioning and two a days. If there is no issue in the program, I bet there is something going on at home.

I support Coach Warner 100% in this situation because the young man was way out of control. I, for one, hope that he is able to come back, because football is great for him and he loves Ryle football. Forgiveness is golden. Just a crazy, crazy, situation and a lesson on what anger can do. As an aside, the attitude and morale around Ryle football is the highest that I have seen ever. All is well at Ryle football.

Stupid acts go on by kids every day at school and practice, you don't hear this often obviously.

That's is because kids usually comply with orders without the authorities having to be called in.

This has got to be an unfortunate incident for all involved. No one wins when things like this happen!!

Will the kid dress for the game this weekend? Has he been suspended from school?

As for tasing, I'm sure the cop just didn't walk up a think," Hmmm I think I'll tase this kid". Cops don't want to randomly tase someone. My guess is the kid deserved it. I don't care what his size was, listen to the man in the uniform or be prepared to pay the price.

 

If he is worried about getting hurt he should find a new job.

Under what circumstances could the Police use the taser? Can we assume the kid was threatening the police or can you just tase the kid for being an idiot.

I fully support just about any police officer's decision to taze someone. The way things are today with all the paperwork, the PR nightmares, the hoops, and everything they have to do after an incident like this, I feel like tazing a teenager is the last thing a police officer wants to do because of all the followup crap they have to deal with, especially in a county the size of Boone. They always have to answer to someone.

 

Maybe a much much smaller county where things can be pushed under a rug or 50 years ago, I'd question it. In 2012, and a county the size of Boone, I pretty much fully support any police officer's decision to taze someone.

I have a bunch of friends that are cops and they only tase if they have to. There is no reason why you should tase a kid. I hope the cop is fired.

Sounds like this team has no leadership! If this was last year I think Travis Elliot would have ran the kid off the field.
