Where Are You Vacationing This Summer?

Featured Replies

I think we are going to stay close to home, maybe Gatlinburg this summer. The last 3 summers we went to Cape Cod and Boston...I would definitely recommend it.

Took the family to Boston and Cape Cod last year. Loved it. Even got to see a Cape Cod League game.

Walked my large tail off in Boston.

Have you ever been out west for a lengthy vacation? I have always wanted to do that. There are a lot of sights I'd like to see.

I'm actually thinking of heading over towards Boston for two days after we leave Montreal. What were the highlights of your trip. I'd like to see the sights walking the freedom trail, and the USS Constitution but not sure what else to do.

Just got into White Fish Montana this evening. Staying here about 4 days then driving up through Calgary, Vancouver and I think Alberta Canada. There is a lot of breathtaking country here. My first time here. Can't wait to see Glacier National Park. Have heard many say it's the most beautiful place in the US.

Heading back to Charleston SC 4th of July week. Been there quite a bit. Cool town.

This thread is really depressing but I'm excited for everyone who will be partaking.

Next week, the wife and I head to San Antonio, Texas for 6 nights. In July, we will do a week in Disney World. If you haven't checked out zozi.com, I recommend it. We are getting our hotel for 6 nights in Orlando at a Wyndam Resort for $375. They literally have a deal with resorts from around the country and the world for that price. It is a great deal.

Love the Riverwalk. Have been to San Antonio twice. Great places to eat and very safe.

After spending the past two years in Sandestine, Fl, which I love, going back to Hilton Head for the first time in four years. Eleven days of sun and golf. Fore!!!!

No vacation for us this year. We normall take a family vacation to Myrtle Beach but my brother-in-law and his wife are expecting in August so they are out. My other brother-in-law isn't able to either so our normal vacation is a no go. I plan on buying more fireworks than normal this year for the 4th so that's part of my vacation and the wife and I are talking about making the Boyle/Highlands game a weekend in Cincy so we'll probably hit Argosy up that weekend. Probably spend the night in Lex at some point also. We are definitely going on vacation to a beach somewhere next year. My wife and I become unbearable if we can't unwind at a beach at least once a year.

Go to Hollywood Casino instead.

Leaving this Sat for Lake Keowee in S.C. for a week. We have a cabin close by.....

For those that want a nice summer beach vacation but aren't into a 12 hour drive consider the west coast of Michigan. We vaca'd jut north of Holland a few years ago in a cool lakehouse and it was outstanding. Hot days. Cool nights.

I just got back from St Joseph, MI and one day in Chicago. Had a great time, drank a ton of awesome beers, and even ventured into the COLD water.

Second year in a row I've been. If I can't fly it's the way to go. The drive to FL, AL, SC, etc. is for the birds.

Michigan is home to some darn fine breweries. New Holland has become one of my absolute favorites. And of course there is definitely Bell's, love Bell's Eccentric Café.

I have a few times. Love it out there. When I was in 7th grade we did a two week camping trip to Arizona and back. Still one of the greatest experiences ever.

I pretty much stuck to New Holland, Bell's, and Round Barn minus the day at Wrigley. Great stuff.

Got our plane ticket to Spokane, WA en route to Cour d'Alene, Idaho in September. Staying an extra day. Looks beautiful out there.
