For the tiny ones you'll find family activities ranging from hayrides and dive in movies to bike and bike surrey rentals as well as a stable of ponies and horses. There is a bowling alley and retro game room too. There are indoor and outdoor pools, hiking and nearby attractions like cruises on Patoka Lake, Zip lining, go carts and laser tag. We have a whole summer full of activities planned. Fire works on 7/6, vintage baseball series 7/7 & 8 and a car show in August too.

Oh! And we just introduced a family golf package that includes free golf for kids 12 and younger. We also have 4 different course options to choose from for regular golfing.

We won't.

 

However, our kids were not with us for Hawaii.

We're at the Hilton on Union Square. Doing the Alcatraz tour, and planning on Muir Woods. Got tickets for the Reds on Thursday (ballpark tour that morning), and Sat. Doing the Alcatraz tour at night on Friday. Probably doing Muir Woods Friday morning. I believe, from what I've seen, we'll be taking the trolley darn near everywhere from Union Square.

 

The wife and I went to SF about 10 years ago and it was awesome. The Alcatraz tour was in the evening and with the sun setting and the wind racing thru the cells it became quite ominous. Like Clyde said, dress accordingly. We went in August and I packed nothing but shorts and t-shirts and it got wicked cool at night. I actually had to buy a sock hat, a pretty cool SDST one, at the pier one night because my ears were killing me.

 

We ended up spending three days in SF, rented a convertible and proceeded to Anaheim down the PCH. Talking about one killer drive, it's not every day you can stip on a cliff and witness a whale in the ocean.

You can't. Went there in 2001. It was awesome.

IMO, Hawaii is strictly a vacationing spot, wouldn't want to live there again. U.S. Navy veteran stationed in Pearl Harbor on the USS Harold E Holt (FF 1074) from Nov 1986-June 1990, a little over 3.5 years for those who need help with the math. I know, I know, I hear it all the time, "That must have been some tough duty," but let me tell you...after 6 months there, I was ready to move back to the states. I missed the change of seasons and not having a car there really sucked. Public transportation only took you to certain parts of the island, but not everywhere I wanted to go. Don't get me wrong, I had some good times, but it isn't a place to live.

I'm heading to the Olympics in London this summer. It's actually a graduation present to my nephew who graduated this year from college. A trip we've planned for the last four years!!!! Needless to say we're excited! We have tickets for basketball & beach volleyball.

My girlfriend is living over in Wales right now and has to spend a fair amount of time in London. I've been there twice with her in the last 7 months as well. It's a VERY awesome place, but make sure to you keep your belongings secured - particularly your money, passport, and any other important docs that you have. Pickpockets are rampant, and when you add give or take a million Olympic tourists to that already crazily busy city, (which is hard to even freakin' fathom) it's gonna be a playground for pickpockets

 

Two tips...buy a map that includes the Underground lines and stations to carry on you at all times, and visit the Tower of London (and make sure you tour it with one of the Beefeater tour guides - it's free with the price of admission). The Tower of London is easily one of the coolest single places to tour in London, plus it's only about a 4 minute walk from Tower Bridge.

It's been a good year for us.

 

We took all the kids to Anna Maria, Fl for Christmas. Rented a 5 BR house on the beach. Two of them are graduating and getting real jobs, so we figured this might be the last time for a while that we would definitely be able to have all four boys on a big vacation.

 

Mrs C and I went to San Diego for a week in May, and stopped in Memphis for the Beal St festival weekend on the way back.

 

For the summer it will prolly just be weekends at the lake and a couple of trips to Chicago. We're going to Wrigley weekend of August 10th for Cubs/Reds.

 

In the fall, it will be tailgating in Champaign for the Illinois football game.

 

And it's looking like Maui or Australia after the first of the year. I really want to go to Australia, but if we go I want at least 15-16 days, and I don't know if I can get that much time off then. So it will prolly be Maui, which I absolutely love so I won't be upset.

Also, if you have a free day, I'd strongly suggest a day trip to Bath. From London, it's about an hour and a half by train, and about 3 hours by bus - train tickets will probably be as little as £20 round trip, and bus fare is probably around half that. Bath is a very cool "Old World European" looking city situated on the River Avon, and it also has their famous Roman Baths (which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site). The Baths date back to the first century AD and are naturally fed by hotsprings.

 

If you plan out a day-trip well, you could also fit in Salisbury along with Bath. Salisbury is about a 2-hour train ride from London, and it's less than an hour away from Bath by train. Salisbury is home to a very cool cathedral from the 13th century, and Stonehenge is just outside of town (and so is the lesser-known Woodhenge).
