Where Are You Vacationing This Summer?

Heading to my buddy's house in Destin FL week of July 4th to stay for a week with the family. He has a sweet place down there, 11 rooms and 5 bedrooms in a gated community close to the beach. Cheap week as he is only charging me $400 to stay. I have never been so I am looking forward to checking out the sights, I hear Baytown Wharf is a hot spot and there is a ton to do down there.

Absolutely love Destin. So much to do there. Everything is so clean and new - basically because so much of it was rebuilt after a bad hurricane there 7-8 years ago. Make sure to check out Harborwalk Village - pretty cool place.

Sadly for me it will be Burlington, Ky.

You can't beat the Boone County Fair!

Folly Beach is Charleston, S.C. Not that it isn't far from Hilton Head, of course. Only know because once we dump the kids off at college this August, me and the ball-n-chain are heading there. Went to Charleston about 6 years ago for a 14U baseball tournament and absolutely loved the place. Can't wait to get back.

Correct on it being near Charleston. Great eats in old Charleston.

My wife and I are taking our 14th month old to Myrtle Beach. First "family" vacation. If we can get him there, I think he'll have a blast. But I'm not looking forward to the drive!

Took my first 2 to FL Panhandle when they were about 4 and 2. Drove through the night.

Naples, Florida for me with all the old folks and that is exactly my speed.

A good friend of my oldest boy just got a job as asst superintendant at a country club in Naples.

BTW there is a Skyline in Naples. 17th St maybe.

Pensacacola for 2 days August 11-13 to catch a couple pensacola blue wahoos games and then on too Ft Walton Beach/Destin 13-17 for some rest and relaxation...Hoping for a storm one day just big enough to stir some waves, Body Boarding is so much more fun that way...Also for anybody that has never been to Destin it is one of the places where you can feel like you are in a tropical paradise without leaving the country...White Sandy Beaches and Water that you can usually see through...

I recommend the Glass Bottom Boat Dolphin Cruise, the boardwalk and I recommend Another Broaken Egg for Breakfast...It has been about 5 years since I have been and I am very excited...I hear that there is even more to do there now...

They also have a thriving newspaper!

Looks like my familiy is going to go to Canada. Plan to spend a few days in Toronto and then head over to Montreal for a few days and then stop off at Niagra Falls on the way home. Anybody been to Canada before? Any recommendations?

Been a long time since I've been to Toronto but it's a really cool city.

Old Quebec is cool as well. Has a real Europe feel to it.

Caerphilly Castle, in Caerphilly, South Wales. It's about 750 years old....built during the reigns of Henry III and Edward I (Edward The Longshanks). Pretty awesome.

If you have never been to Niagra falls you will want to take the Maid Of The Mist Tour, I went in late may its breathtaking...Also I couldnt get into CN because it was a spur of the moment thing to drive to the falls from Cedar Point and we didnt have our passports but I did go to the Hard Rock on the US side but heard from people the one on the CN side along with planet hollywood are alot better...

You could also consider a trip to Canadas Wonderland which is the biggest amusement park in CN if you like Coasters...If you happen to have a KI platinum pass you will get in for free, they have a new steal coaster this year called Leviathan which is the 3rd tallest in the World...
