June 30, 201214 yr Yep. That's one of the reasons we volunteered to take care of their cats while they are gone next week. Those cats need attention. Seriously though, they were paying someone to feed the cats and my wife and I said we'd watch the cats for free and they said the pool is yours for the week then. Fair trade off in my eyes. We will use the pool. Every. Day. :lol: Very fair trade. We use our neighbors a lot during the summer. My wife and I are both educators so we have some time off and they are never home during the day. My kids love it.
June 30, 201214 yr Just took my son and daugther-in-law to the airport where they just flew out for LA. They're going to LA (of course), Sholving, CA, Santa Barbara, San Diego, then back to LA. They'll be back next Saturday. I will be vacationing at home with Lucky & Rusty, my dog-son and grand-doggy. We'll be camping on the couch in the cool of AC Wed-Sun. We will venture out once early each day to tour the sites around the neighborhood. We may go get an ice cream one night. Thinking we may drive down to either Grayson or Breckinridge Co one day. :lol:
July 1, 201214 yr What part? St Joseph both times. Went last year to watch a friend run the Steelhead Half IM and this year for a wedding.
July 1, 201214 yr Husband is going to Canada fishing. Son and I......won't get a vacation ....:cry: It's all a matter if perspective, goldie. Take some day trips and see some museums, find caves to tour or maybe just do some antiquing! I prefer those kinds of vacations. They're much less work and I get to sleep in my own bed.
July 23, 201214 yr For week 1, last week, I had all kinds of big plans, all of which fell through when my car decided out-of-town travel was not an option. Instead, I ended up hitting the bars here in Nelson County and a few across the line in Marion County so I could make the best of a bad situation. We had a nice BBQ last Saturday. I'm thinking I'll enjoy my July week much better, with a trip down south on the agenda, and hopefully a day or two in NEKy to photo those covered bridges in there. Had a great time this week. Thanks to GT for the invite! Got to see some outstanding talent up close, and while I didn't get every pic I wanted, I did get some real good ones. Gonna frame this one, I think. Also am enjoying some amazingly tasty peaches fresh off the tree from the roadside stand in SC. Trying to share as many as possible.
