Beau Buchanan, Bowling Green (7-0, ranked #2 in 5A)

Week 5: Buchanan completed 19 of 32 passes for 235 yards and 5 TDs in a 68-8 win over Grayson County. The numbers are starting to resemble our preseason expectations. This makes 10 TD passes in the past two weeks. He'll have two weeks to prepare for nationally ranked Warren Central (IN).

Season to date: 131 of 219 for 1,655 yards with 16 TDs and 4 ints.

Week 5: Ratliff spent a comfy night picking apart Boyd County's secondary in a 48-0 Tomcats win. He finished 14 of 17 for 155 yards and a TD, as well as chipping in 73 yards and a TD on the ground. Expect a similarly unencumbered night versus East Carter this Friday.

Chase Estep, Corbin (5-1, ranked #2 in 3A)

Week 5: Estep had a monster game, going 17 of 21 for 409 yards and 7 TDs in a 50-0 win over McCreary Central. He had three more touchdown passes than incompletions, albeit against a winless team.

Cameron Jones, Frederick Douglass (7-0, ranked #3 in 6A)

Week 6: The 6’8” gunslinger finished 12 of 19 for 196 yards and 2 TDs in a 46-0 win over Bryan Station. The biggest game of his life is upon him. An angry Scott County will pay the Broncos a visit this Friday.

Casey McGinness, Covington Catholic (6-0, ranked #1 in 5A)

Week 6: The Colonels were off last week. They travel to Indianapolis to face Bishop Chatard this Friday.

Tre’ Bass, Franklin-Simpson (6-1, ranked #2 in 4A)

Week 5: If you're only going to touch the football four times, running for 137 yards and 2 TDs is a fine way to spend those carries. And it's not like Allen County-Scottsville is some pushover. They're a solid team that got just got worked over by FS’s powerhouse running game in the 54-14 Wildcats victory. Bass’ per carry average (13.5) is starting to creep back up to where it was last season (14).

Allen County - Scottsville High School - Tre' Bass highlights - Hudl

Season to date: 74 carries for 1,002 yards and 15 TDs

Jayden Neace, Perry County Central (5-1, unranked in 5)

Week 6: Neace rushed for 163 yards and 3 TDs in a 42-35 win over Pike County Central. This broke a string of four straight games with 220+ yards.

Season to date: 134 carries for 1,531 yards and 24 TDs

Stock:

Kent Trey Matthews, Mayfield (7-0, ranked #2 in 2A)

Week 6: Matthews’ 257 yards and 4 TDs were a major catalyst for Mayfield in their 63-28 win over Murray. He carried the Cardinals through the early stages of a game that Mayfield struggled to put away until the 2nd half.

Season to date: 138 rushes for 1,134 yards and 16 TDs

Landan Swartz, Bath County (4-2, unranked in 3A)

Week 6: Swartz rushed for exactly 200 yards and 2 TDs in a 40-28 loss to West Carter. He also returned two kickoffs for TDs, almost singlehandedly keeping the Wildcats in the game. Despite once again reaching the 200 yard plateau (something he's done 12 times in the last 13 games), the loss to the Comets is damaging to his place on the list. They need to win to keep him alive.

Season to date: 157 rushes for 1,175 yards and 14 TDs ; 2 kickoff return TDs

Stock:

Joe Jackson, Johnson Central (5-1, ranked #1 in 4A)

Week 6: A second straight outgunned opponent meant a relatively light workload for Jackson. He carried 10 times for 136 yards and 2 TDs, as well as catching a TD pass in a 53-14 win over East Carter.

Season to date: 103 rushes for 820 yards and 13 TDs ; 3 receiving TDs

Stock:

Dalton Cook, Lynn Camp (6-0, ranked #10 in 1A)

Week 6: Cook totalled 15 carries for 246 yards and 3 TDs in a 35-14 win over Clinton County. Those numbers actually lowered his gaudy 21 yards per carry average to just 20. Kid's gotta pick up his game.

Season to date: 67 carries for 1,353 yards and 20 TDs

Stock: UP

Wide Receivers

Demontae Crumes, Butler (5-2, ranked #4 in 6A)

Week 5: The Bears bounced back from their loss to Male to beat Manual, 14-10. But Crumes had perhaps his quietest night of the season with 4 catches for just 33 yards. He did catch a TD, but it wasn't one of his signature deep balls.

Season to date: 22 catches for 547 yards and 9 TDs

Marquel Tinsley, Daviess County (3-3, unranked in 6A)

Week 6: The Panthers were off last week. They travel to Muhlenberg County this Friday.

Linemen

Bryan Hudson, Scott County (5-2, ranked #7 in 6A)

Week 6: The good - Scott County rushed for 477 yards. The bad - The Cardinals completed zero passes. The ugly - Henry Clay handed Scott County their worst loss to an in-state opponent in seven years. They likely have to beat Frederick Douglass to avoid falling to the 3 seed in their district.

Stock: DOWN

Jacob Lacey, South Warren (7-0, ranked #3 in 5A)

Week 6: Lacey logged 4 tackles (1 TFL) in a 55-7 win over Greenwood. The big man is a force down low every week, but his numbers have been muted by repeated double teams and the fact that repeated running clocks have ended his Friday nights early.

Season to date: 29 tackles (9 TFL) ; 2 sacks ; 1 forced fumble

Stock: DOWN

Tanner Bowles, Glasgow (6-1, ranked #6 in 2A)

Week 6: The Scotties outgained Green County 375-64 in their 47-0 win over the Dragons. Glasgow is off this week and should be on easy street for their two remaining district games.

Stock:

Athletes

Milton Wright, Christian Academy of Louisville (6-0, ranked #3 in 2A)

Week 6: Wright logged his first 100 yard receiving game since Week 0, snagging 9 balls for 102 yards and a TD in a 38-0 win over Meade County. He'll have an opportunity to seize the Mr. Football spotlight for a night this Friday versus archrival DeSales.

http://www.hudl.com/v/2AXGtF

Season to date: 31 catches for 425 yards and 4 TDs ; 15 rushes for 139 yards and 3 TDs ; a kick return TD ; 25 tackles (3.5 TFL)

Stock :

Logan Castleman, Beechwood (4-2, ranked #1 in 1A)

Week 6: Castleman had perhaps the best performance of his career versus Simon Kenton. He toted the rock 24 times for 220 yards and 2 TDs in the Tigers’ 28-21 victory. He also added 4 catches for 47 yards and a receiving TD. And his exploits extended beyond the offensive side of the ball - he picked off his second pass of the year.

Season to date: 78 carries for 630 yards and 7 TDs ; 11 catches for 100 yards and 2 TDs ; 2 ints.

Stock: UP

Drew Sawyers, Southwestern (6-0, ranked #5 in 5A)

Week 6: Sawyers accounted for 258 total yards (122 yards passing, 136 rushing) and a 2 TDs in a 25-7 win over Central Hardin

Season to date: 37 of 61 for 601 yards and 5 TDs ; 72 rushes for 557 and 4 TDs ; 1 interception ; 4 kick return TDs
