The Caps lead 2-1 after 1 period, the Pens 3-2 after 2. Jakub Vrana scored the game winner with 4:38 to go in regulation. Oshie and Eller added 2 empty net goals inside of 2 minutes to make the game seem less competitive than it was, though both goals were breakaways.

Washington leads the series 3 games to 2 with Game 6 in Pittsburgh, Monday night.

Hoping the Penguins can still somehow pull this off. I really dislike the Capitals.

My sister and brother in law moved to DC about 4 years ago from the Cincinnati area. They have adopted the Caps as their team and have quickly realized that are indeed rooting for yet another team that can’t beat Pittsburgh. This is the Caps year. If they can win one of these next 2 games they will not only end the curse that the Penguins have over the Caps it will also end the curse the Steelers have over the Bengals. This is the year!

This was a great game yesterday.

If history is any indicator, the Capitals will find a way to implode. Never fails.
