...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM EST /9 PM CST/

THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ MONDAY...

* WHAT...Snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected. The wintry mix

will result in slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and

bridges, including during the morning commute on Monday. Total

snow and sleet accumulations could reach a half inch, and ice

accumulations of 0.05 inches are possible.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Kentucky, north central

Kentucky and south central Kentucky.

* WHEN...10 PM today to 7 AM Monday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While the wintry precipitation will have

ended by sunrise Monday morning, some untreated road surfaces

could be icy and slick. Motorists are strongly encouraged to

slow down and allow plenty of time to reach their destinations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, and

freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for

slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.

Just saw some videos today from Cumberland Falls, the water is so high the falls only look like they are about 10-15 feet high.

Corps of Engineers announced that they would be lowering the water level on Lake Cumberland this weekend to be able to hold the run off from the mountains. Wolf Creek Dam was going to release water for a prolonged length of time this weekend.

Sunday evening update:

Some could see some wintry precipitation by early Monday morning. This could cause some slick and hazardous road conditions for travelers. Snow to snow showers looks to be from the I-64 corridor northward. Possible accumulations of 1-2" could be possible for some in NEKY. South of I-64 some could receive some light freezing rain. The Louisville area could receive .01-.05" of freezing rain accumulations. The heaviest freezing rain accumulations look to be in SEKY where they could get .01-.15".

Even if there are very light accumulations this could cause some hazardous road conditions. So everyone take care when out driving early in the morning.

The wintry precipitation should happen after midnight and be ending by early Monday morning.

snow accumulations, but ice accumulations of a light glaze from

light sleet and freezing rain are expected to create slick areas

on some roadways.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Indiana, western Kentucky and

southern Illinois.

* WHEN...Until midnight CST tonight.

Good morning my friend. Look for rain changing to light snow before ending on Friday in the Morgan County area. For now, accumulations look like around 1". Low temps from the mid 20s to low 30s with the highs being from the mid 30s to low 40s.

Everything here is covered with a thin layer of tiny sleet pellets. Unusual.
