* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Power outages and

tree damage are possible due to accumulating ice. Travel will be

dangerous, especially during the morning commute on Wednesday.

Ice accumulations of around a quarter of an inch are expected.

Up to 1 inch of snow also possible.

 

 

* WHERE...Portions of east central Kentucky and north central

Kentucky.

 

 

* WHEN...10 PM today to 1 PM Wednesday.

 

 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for significant reductions in

visibility at times.

 

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

 

 

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet

and ice are expected. This will make travel very hazardous or

impossible.

How in the world did they pick those eight counties for the warning? :lol2:

 

I'd say because the warning was issued by the National Weather Service-Louisville office and those are the northern most counties in county warning area. The National Weather Service-Wilmington just issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Cincinnati/NKY Area. You'll see the map change in a few.

Central, South Central and Southwest Ohio. The higher ice

totals will be mainly south of Interstate 71 with the highest

snowfall totals along Interstate 71.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions,

including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Be prepared
