groundattack
With all the talk about football numbers coming out it seems to have gotten lost a little that BOC voted to move Woodford into the 8th Region and they will compete in the 30th district with Anderson, Collins, Shelby and Spencer. groundattack
Actually it makes no sense, but it is the khsaa, so... Well that was my thought as well. Don't really see how this makes sense but was curious to see opinions thought maybe I was missing something.
JohnsonQ
Wood ford has no connections to the 8th. Franklin County makes more sense or move in Ryle it is closer to the 8th. This was a political move to appease Scott County. Wood ford guy on board of control. He gets his school in an easier region and Scott County separates their schools in their district. This does not pass the smell test. KHSAA is so dirty they don't even try to cover up their corruption.

Except for the fact that the only request Scott County's BOE made was to have both schools play in the same district.

The trip to Anderson Co from Woodford Co is obviously a breeze, but that trip to Spencer Co for district games has to be close to 50 miles each way. I would assume Collins and Shelby Co are each close to 40 miles from Woodford Co -- lot of intra-district mileage for the Jackets.
Straitshooter
The bottom line is something had to be done. With the addition of Frankfort Christian, Douglass, and Great Crossing that would bring the 11th region to 21 schools. Moving Franklin County makes the most sense but at a minimum you would have to move Franklin and Western Hills and probably you would have to move Frankfort and Frankfort Christian too. Mr. Athletics
Is there another region more spread out than the 8th???
Jim Schue
Is there another region more spread out than the 8th??? Ever made the drive from Fort Knox to Adair Co.? But I do agree that the 8th is a mess, and always has been.
Woodsman
Move SK back to 9th and Woodford won’t have to drive that long trip. Woodford doesn’t make since either and neither does SK. A Frankfort school is reasonable.
