1. 6A ScottCounty (7-2):

The Cardinals defeated Paul Dunbar 42-8 to secure their 13thstraight (from what I could gather) district championship. ScottCounty will end their season next Friday at Pleasure Ridge Park.

 

 

2. 2ALexington Christian (8-0):

LCA remained perfect this past Friday night when they cruised pastthe Somerset Briar Jumpers 39-12. LCA has defeated every opponentthey’ve faced this season by 20+ points and they have undefeatedDanville this Friday at home, can they get past the Ads and claim thedistrict crown or will LCA get their first loss on the season?

 

 

3. 2A Danville(9-0):

Much like LCA, the Danville Admirals also remained perfect this pastFriday, cruising past Middlesboro 53-0. Danville put up 410 totalyards of offense against the Yellowjackets on their way to the route.

 

 

4. 3A BoyleCounty (7-1):

Boyle County finally got over the hump that has eluded them for along time and defeated Lexington Catholic 48-17. The Rebels will lookto close out the district championship Friday night, hosting WesternHills.

 

 

5.3A Lexington Catholic (3-3):

The Knights have struggled this whole season with putting back toback wins up, in fact, they’ve won and lost every other game thisseason. If this continues to hold true, then the Knights will defeatGarrard County, fall to Southwestern, win their first round playoffgame and then get bounced in the 2nd round but we’ve notgot that far yet.

 

 

6.6A Frederick Douglass (6-2):

After getting throttled by Scott County, the Broncos bounced backshutting out Hancock County 48-0.

 

 

7. 3A: WesternHills (6-2):

Western Hills bounced back after falling to Lexington Catholic, todefeat Garrard County in what would be the game of the night with theWolverines edging the Golden Lions 40-36.

 

 

8. 5A MadisonSouthern (6-2):

Another week, another win for Madison Southern. The Eagles cruisedpast Woodford County 41-10. Madison Southern will look to win thedistrict championship Friday when they host #9 Anderson County.

 

 

9. 5AMontgomery County (6-2):

The Indians have had a good season this year and will look tocontinue the momentum heading into the last two weeks of the regularseason.

 

 

10. 5AAnderson County (6-2):

The Bearcats seen their 5 game win streak get snapped this Fridaywhen they fell to district foe, Montgomery County 33-23.

 

 

10. 1A Paris(7-1): Parisdidn’t have a problem getting past Bishop Brossart as they cruisedpast the Mustangs 62-14.

 

 

 

 

TEAMS ON THERISE:

 

6AHenry Clay (4-4):Afterstarting the season off 0-3, the Blue Devils have won 4 of their last5 games.

 

 

6AMadison Central (4-4): TheIndians shut out Lafayette 21-0 on Friday in a big district showdown.

 

 

4ABourbon County (5-3):Bourbon County has won 2 of their last 3 games.

 

 

 

 

TEAMS ON THEDOWNFALL:

 

6A Lafayette (3-6): TheGenerals have won 2 of their last 3 games but the state runner upsfrom last season have struggled mightly this season.

 

 

5A: Woodford County (0-8):The Yellowjackets are on a 14 game losing streak.

 

 

3A Garrard County (3-5):The Golden Lions have lost 4 of their last 5 games.

 

 

 

 

Player of the Week:

Aaron Maggard (SR QB Paris) threw for 195 yards and 2 TD’s on 6/12 passing in the win over Bishop Brossart on Friday.

 

 

Game of the Week:

#3 Danville at #2 LCA. The game we’ve all been waiting to see.Undefeated Danville comes to Lexington to take on the Eagles of LCAwho is also undefeated in a huge district showdown and probably willbe the best game on the night if not the year and will determine thedistrict championship. The Eagles nest will be rockin this Fridaynight.
