Ram
Rams stay grounded, avoid shocker vs. West Zack Klemme / The Independent RACELAND Lightning kept striking for West Carter, but not quite enough that the Comets could pull off a shocker against Raceland. Though West Carter’s athletes punched a couple of holes in host Raceland’s vaunted defense, the Rams’ big boys awakened in time to largely stymie the Comets’ spread rushing attack in securing a 36-25 victory Saturday night. The Rams (1-0) outgained the Comets (0-1) 413 yards to 164. That included a 331-105 spread in rushing yardage. Raceland’s Carson Christian ran for 164 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, quarterback Nathaniel Davidson rushed for 70 yards and a score and also threw for a TD to Cameron Webb, and Kane Snyder piled up 61 yards and hit paydirt once. Bailey Walker chipped in 48 rushing yards and a score. Link
