Haven't heard, that is terrible. This team seems to have been bitten by the injurie bug in the worse possible way. Coach Graham has worked wonders this year keeping them on track and focused, I'm sure he will do the same. Hope all is well with those involved and no one was seriously injured.

They can call it anything they want, as long as they start treating it as good as they do the sweet 16. Football teams get nothing, no food, not t shirts, some travel based off of number class they are in and that is it. Basketball gets put up in the Hyatt, eats buffet meals all days, gets t shirts and maybe more. would love to hear from some baskeball people on what all they got. The most embarassing thing in the entire situation is the trophy. Basketball gets this 5 foot tall trophy and an huge intro at the game. Football gets a 1 and a half foot trophy and i don't even know if the new design has a ball on it. It's ashame that the KHSAA cannot do things equal in Championships but yet all their changes and talk is all based off of equality. HUH!

"but he is not the type of QB LC has been used to" 3 wishes.. That kid is just a sophomore!!! He may end up being what they are used too, only time will tell. I know he is in position to do something none of the other QB's did, and that is take his team to the championship in his 1st year as a starter. He already joins Burke as the only 2 to win a regional title at LC.

If anyone from Catholic thinks that just because they played their "worse game of the season" and that simply will be corrected they are wrong. They had a huge win but so did HC. Both teams are playing for the same thing... a chance to go to the State Championship game! The Breds at home will come to play and LC better do the same. Should be a good one.

Congrats to both teams on what sounds like a heck of a game! HC seems to always be getting guys hurt this year. Who got hurt tonight and did they make it back into the game? Sounds like the running game is back though.

With this great new playoff setup by the KHSAA, I was just curious as to how far your team is having to travel for a "regional" game...........

Justin Birk, the record holder in KY that he beat, got to Louisville, won the state championship and he didn't win! That is a crazy award that you just don't ever know about. Sad thing is, he is very deserving of the award and may end up being left out because of location and not playing against bigger named competition. None the less, a great player obviously and giving great credibility to the state!!

Sounds like Harrison is healthy

all higher seeds except for Rock win! I guess playoff tested Rock justifies why there are 4 teams making tourney instead of just 2 teams from each district. The only problem that the KHSAA doesn't see is that in all other sports, both district winner and runner up advance. In football, after week 2, half of them are going home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Old playoff format is better, at least you can convince school, fans, and anyone else that a new opponent is more worthy then the 4 seed your team already dominated in the regular season. ? who knows, but something needs fixin!

There is still a good nucleus of coaches that coached with Carlberg there. Letton and Carlberg did coach for a year together. Letton was on offense while Carlberg was on D. When Carlberg left for Apollo, Letton became the D coordinator and enherited Carlbergs Defensive staff.

You talked to their coaches? Was it an offensive or defensive coach? Where they referring to one side of the ball or team? They put up some numbers the last 2 weeks haven't they. No other 4A team has played a schedule with teams as hard as or have they?

Classy move by both coaches to let #75 get a carry in a varsity football game. Coach Carlberg was a class act when he was with Catholic and has taken that same approach to Apollo. No doubt he will get that program turned around. Catholic played well against a well coached team. If they work for it, the state title will be very possible. They need to know that rankings don't count until the last game!! Apollo fans & community, you have a winner in Carlberg, treat him well and buy into what he is talking about, it works!! Good luck to you all in your futures and I hope the QB is okay.

Trinity is not backing down at the end of the year are they? Dunbar and Lafayette are not weak competition this time of year. Big teams schedule the best for a reason. Good luck to both teams heading into playoffs.

If the LC o line doesn't start to preform better, this and upcomming games may be trouble. Preseason talk was about the 4 seniors on the line and it doesn't look like they have "taken over" the game like they were predicted to. I pick LC if they come to play but if not, Apollo.

Very good stuff!! But i think you could add a 6th game to watch in Harrison Co at Franklin Co. One of these 2 will get home field in playoffs and could easily end up in the semifinals of the 4A as a result of it. Should be a good one.

What Dunbar team will show up? They showed signs of being a quality football team against Central. What is the story of all their players that didn't play on Friday? Injuries, Suspensions, Academics?
