That's what we call the playoff championships now?

Im not even sure the KHSAA knows. But I like it much better than the "Prep Bowl".

Who sits around and thinks of these names? Surely it is the result of some contest in the elementary schools---and not someone on the state payroll being paid with our tax dollars.

Especially since the folks in Illinois own the trademark on Prep Bowl (season-ending championship game between the winner of the Chicago public-school playoffs and the winner of Chicagoland's Catholic Metro Conference.

Just be glad it still refers to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and doesn't have a corporate sponsored name, yet.

Sounds like someone in the KHSAA office is trying to make use of a marketing degree ...

Nice shot! :thumb:

Every time I have looked at the brackets it's been called something different.

Maybe they should call it the

"Please we need a title sponsor for more money" bowls...

Pre-School?

Do you think its just a matter of time before we start seeing the Papa John's State Title Championships, etc? If they really wanted to squeeze some money out, they could even get local sponsors for every playoff game each year. I seriously doubt that is the case. Lets just hope that High School is not heading in the path of the BCS in College. IMHO, College BCS is not the answer. I would hate to see that, or anything even close to it in High School.

I am just waiting for the (KHSAA) to wake up and put 32 teams in the basketball finals all it is the money. The playoffs for football was unreal look at the scores . The state has to do something about this.

Wonder if it was the same group that okay'd the smiling sun on the license plates...

Actually Prep Bowl is owned by the Detroit Catholic Schools. I am told that's one of the reasons that KHSAA went away from that.

Wonder who is paid out of state tax dollars that is involved in athletics. Don't think anyone at KHSAA is.

It probably is all about marketing. A new expanded system. A one-time shot at giving something a theme rather than just "the Kentucky come see all our finals at one site weekend".
