I believe this puts the Flyers as the only undefeated team in the state. Franklin County showed no nerves what so ever and just came to play baseball. I was very impressed with the teams speed with Clifton, Conner, McKee and Douthitt. Howard played well at short and made some big plays with the glove. Thompson is a man child on the mound and when he is throwing I believe the FLyers can beat any team in the state of KY.

Rutledge is around 6'5" or 6"6" he is long and rangy. He will be a player to keep an eye out for. He can shoot pretty good and is very atheltic. Potential Division 1 player.

Vance Hall from Franklin County should have made this list. Look for him to be a top player in the 11th region next year.

Will they make corrections?

Avery has not signed LOI to Kentucky, he is far too young. Orton,Hood and Vilarino have all signed, while Konner Tucker has committed. All can still get out of their signings with a waiver, but I imagine they will meet with the new head coach. The new head coach will re-evaluate the verbals Gillispie received and make a decision based on that. Good luck to all of these young kids as it is a tough time in their lives.

Union has a pipeline at FC with the Hicks brothers now, Willie Smither, Larry Taylor and possibly Corey Craig. Good to see FC getting to the next level.

Congratulations to DeRon for signing with Union College last week in the school's media center. He will join his brother Demetrius. DeRon was District MVP and All-State Honorable Mention by the Courier Journal. DeRon has done a lot of things for the Franklin County program and I wish him nothing but the best. Any word on when the new coach will be hired? I know there was speculation for a hire as early as Friday.

I believe the AD and Principal requested the extension for Spring Practice.

I know Henry Clay will be a very good tennis team, I look for Brad Merchant to have a breakout year after injuring his eye during the regular season last year. With Quigley gone we finally will have a new state champion. I have to root for my hometown Franklin County Flyers out of the 8th region to repeat as region champs.

Franklin County and Western Hills both have talented teams that will earn the respect they deserve.

I can't really make a prediction until I know if Phares is okay. Phares is the best player on Scott County's team IMHO, without him Scott County is not the same team. Lexington Catholic on the other hand is playing good basketball and this one will be a good game just based on the rivalry standpoint.

Where are Hammons and Stepp from?

I believe he was referring to when the heat index is too high to practice several schools go into the gym and practice instead of waiting for the temperatures to drop.
