Clay County and Maysville getting a 1st place vote?

Once again....Northern Kentucky getting no respect!

Talk about no respect. Danville loses in the region by one to the region champs last year, graduates one (pitcher only) and started an 8th grader and a freshman, which means they have everyone back and only gets ranked 59th. Must be a good year for Kentucky baseball!

GRC was runnerup in their district and lost key players, Bourbon Co. won the district and return 8 starters. Talking about no resect, who picks these polls?

My point on Northern Kentucky getting no respect is Cov Cath should be in the top 10 (JMO) and the 9th Region winner last year Newport CC returns a a solid group of players this year and is slotted 48th. I understand this is all pure guessing at this point but I'm not sure if enough homework is being done on putting this poll together.

Clay County and Maysville getting a 1st place vote?

Now if Maysville got a vote that's funny--they closed about 15 years ago!

Mayfield.

I wish one of the States news papers would start up a baseball poll like they do for football and basketball. The coaches poll is becoming a joke.

Good to see Apollo close to the top once again. They don't have a dominate pitcher but they have several solid bats in the lineup. The 9th district looks to be tough once again with 3 of the 4 schools in the top 25.

Does anybody have previous preseason polls handy? Curious how close past polls came to the final 16?

:thumb: Very much agree. And while I mean no disrespect to Beechwood, the fact of the matter is they lost a ton of talent from last season and not sure they deserve a #33 ranking if NCC only deserves a #48. But you are right - it is nothing but pure speculation and guesswork at the beginning of March.

This may sound like sandbagging, but X at #4 is based purely on what they accomplished last year and not on what they have returning. Just in Metro Louisville I would rank Bullit East, PRP, Eastern, Manual and Trinity ahead of them. X lost 6 position starters and the top three pitchers off last year's squad. I'll be happy if they make it out of district.
