To get a good laugh look at Scott County's Basketball Region that they were recently placed in last year, and then look at the new girls golf allignment and look where our girls golf teams region is, and then to laugh even harder look at where our boys golf region is....no consistency....the KHSAA is a JOKE

Scott County 1999, Ranked as high as USA Today 3rd in Nation, only lost two games (both to Ballard, but also beat Ballard twice), Won the City of Palms (every team they beat went on to win their respective State Championship in Arkansas, Florida, and Kentucky).....flopped in State Championship game Alumni Include; Casey Alsop Junior Georgetown College Rick Jones Senior Vandy Mr. Basketball A.W. I thought that the other coachs vote on this, wouldnt fellow coaches know who is deserving of the award when they vote. I'm not sure why this thread is questioning the awardee....(if thats a word). Maybe instead the thread title should be "Were 11th Region Coaches Bribed/Recruited by Toyota to vote for Coach Hicks for 11th Region Coach of the Year?"

Good talent is the same reason the KHSAA realigned SC into the 11th in the first place.....I wonder if the KHSAA rules them inelgible if they will then reverse the decision a couple of hours later.

On a better team that played against better compeition, I think if Walls wasn't at Scott County he would have been Mr. Basketball, I am a firm believer that a great player (mr. basketball caliaber) leads a good team, and good teams play, and win, at the Sweet 16 :jump:

I was under the impression it was coaches and reporters, but I may be wrong.

Log Mountain, they are still mad Martha Layne Collins found a good plot of land in Scott County for Toyota rather than in any of the other 119 counties!

After Mason beat Elliott, I loved the front page picture of him....by the way, those that were there know, that picture was taken after he hit a 3 and then was pointing at the Elliott County Fan Section....taunting...he is truely a class act and deserving of a KHSAA award!

They were sagnant almost to a point that their offense was boring....

Miller deserves the award, but so did Walls, encourage your local sports reporter to vote!

So the KHSAA proves again that their rules really arent rules for everyone....

The official on the opposite sideline saw him because he pointed at him and when it happened, not sure why KHSAA wouldn't have delcared him inelgible for the next game not matter what the officals did, but I think there is an appeals process for that.

Congratz to Mason on a great season! I'm still suprised about the fact that Setty was allowed to play, any player that leaves the bench is supposed to be an automatic ejection, he clearly left the bench. Why enforce rules all year and then allow exceptions in the Sweet 16...Still doesnt matter because Mason was bigger than one player and would have won it without him..... I wondered all night why Holmes didnt put Henderson on Miller, I was looking forward to that matchup.

In 1999 SC was ranked as high as top 5 in the nation and Rick Jones was Mr. Basketball, Hicks wasn't Coach of the year in the Regon and Jones wasn't player of the year in the Region.......
