With Phares out I would not consider a Lex. Cath. win an upset. The Knights are playing great ball right now. Taylor Botkin has played great in the Region Tournament. I will take the Knights 73 - 59. -

Nope. Josh Walls, a freshman and the brother of Matt Walls, played in place of Sandoval. It sounded like a good game. -
I predict that both Jackson and Euton will be in Prep School in another state come this fall. The KHSAA will not budge on this one. What I don't understand is that these rules are set-up to discourage schools from recruiting kids. But most of the time it is the kids\parents recruiting the school. When a family moves don't they check out the area school systems. Most parents check the academic status of the school and the after school activities offered by the schools, including athletics. So in a sense alot of moves are made at least in part for athletic reasons. I guess the comments made to the press were too damaging. Warning to all of those who may transfer, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!!

I thought Russ Middleton had a fantastic sweet 16. I really like his game. Happy got a steal at Georgetown.

Do you all think Scott Hundley would be a good fit at Tates Creek? He is currently the assistant at Montgomery County. He played at Dunbar before transferring to Scott County. It may be a good fit.

I agree, Middleton is a very good ball player. He is a junior and has given his verbal commitment to Georgetown College. His dad played for Georgetown in the 80's. -
Should Setty have been ejected in the Semis?
Muddy Ford replied to Muddy Ford's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
This according to Mike Fields blog on Kentucky.com: "Mason County senior standout Trevor Setty will play in the title game. That’s a relief to the Royals. Mason County’s coaches were told just before 7 p.m. that Setty had been suspended for the finals because of his conduct in the Royals’ semifinals win over Shelby County. With 36.8 seconds left in that game, Mason County’s Ethan King was going in for a layup when he took an intentional foul from the Rockets’ Donovan Johnson. Setty, who was not in the game at that time, came off the bench and was several feet on the court before he was pulled back by a teammate. The referees huddled and decided not to disqualify Setty from the game. Later, however, KHSAA officials decided Setty should have to sit out the finals for leaving the bench. But upon further review, the KHSAA decided that a fight was not going to ensue, and Setty was cleared to play just before the team took the court for warmups." I did not know what the ruling was. Sorry if I upset anybody, I just wondered if you all had heard what the final ruling was. Thanks. -
Should Setty have been ejected in the Semis?
Muddy Ford replied to Muddy Ford's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I agree, I am just asking if anybody heard what the final say on the incident was. Was the technical assessed to someone else? Did the officials just miss this one? Did they rule that he did not leave the bench? I was just asking because there was alot of buzz around Rupp about it. -

I agree, and would throw the Dunbar coach in the mix. I thought he did a very good job getting Dunbar to the regional semis. -
Mason County 66 Elliott County 62

Elliot wins this game if the zebras had not choked on their whistles. Ferguson was fouled on his baseline drive to the basket with about a minute to go in the game and Miller fouled on the offensive rebound off of the Mason missed free throw in the last 30 seconds. -

Well said. Coach Hicks needs that lead guard to be able to create on his own and they just don't have that type of guard this year. -

Could not have said it any better than that. It will be key to win your district in the 11th region, so you can get that first round match-up at home.
