According to Rule 10-4 Article 5, #24 (Setty) for Mason County should have been ejected from the semi-finals and should have had to set out the Championship Game. Did anyone get a clarification on the incident? Setty did receive a technical foul for leaving the bench area or was that changed?

This is crazy...Mason Co was the better team and the better team won.

FWIW, Setty wasn't much of a factor against Holmes...

I wish we could stop seeing so much complaining from some Holmes fans. Mason was the better team tonight and that's what matters, end of story.

I agree, I am just asking if anybody heard what the final say on the incident was. Was the technical assessed to someone else? Did the officials just miss this one? Did they rule that he did not leave the bench? I was just asking because there was alot of buzz around Rupp about it.

I'm not a Holmes fan, but it is a valid question. Games have been forfeited more than once due to what might be considered a technicality.

There was definitely a technical issued, because they shot the penalty shots.

Mason County’s coaches were told just before 7 p.m. that Setty had been suspended for the finals because of his conduct in the Royals’ semifinals win over Shelby County. With 36.8 seconds left in that game, Mason County’s Ethan King was going in for a layup when he took an intentional foul from the Rockets’ Donovan Johnson. Setty, who was not in the game at that time, came off the bench and was several feet on the court before he was pulled back by a teammate. The referees huddled and decided not to disqualify Setty from the game. Later, however, KHSAA officials decided Setty should have to sit out the finals for leaving the bench. But upon further review, the KHSAA decided that a fight was not going to ensue, and Setty was cleared to play just before the team took the court for warmups."

I also would like to know why he played? I was at the game and he did go on the floor. The rule clearly states that if a player leaves the bench; it is a technical foul on that player and the player will be disqualified. I am just a fan of the game; I do not have a dog in the fight. But I would like to know what the the officials ruled. He was the only player I saw on the floor; I was about 10 rows behind the bench.

Rule 10.4.5 States it does not have to be a fight. If it appears a fight may occure on the playing court whe a player leaves his or her bench; all players leaving the bench are assessed flagrant fouls and disqulified. The head coach is assessed a a indirect technical fou.
