Coach Hicks has won two state championships with a man only philosophy.....and a couple of Mr. Basketballs

I am a man...man but I believe that every coach needs to adjust according to the game situation. I also feel as if too much zone will make your defenders lazy. A good zone looks like a man and a good man looks like a zone!

Some coaches go man or zone every game no matter the opponent. I would guess you don't agree with that?

This may have been done before, but to continue one of my recent arguments with a buddy......Which one are you more in favor of man or zone? Why?

I believe they will have a parking area as well as a reserved seat in memorial...

Looks as if Griesser may be getting a lump sum in the basketball account if he can land in the finals vs Scott....that would be a huge crowd! Still not sure it would be as profitable as Mason's cookie sale that sent them to Hawaii though.....

I think alot of officals forget that they are there as a service to the players and the coaches. They should, when app., offer explainations to players and coaches about their calls so proper adjustments can be made so the same violation doesn't occur again.

While interesting I bet this thread doesnt last much longer......

Ok...you may be right but he's not far off...I like the kid, alot. I would definately rather him be playing for me than against me, freshman or senior :jump:

I'd take him against any bigger/more physical guards in the state, IMO he can compete TODAY for or against ANY varsity team in the state.

Its just sad that the Crosby middle team split, they were something smooth to watch!

This player was and is the best player I have ever seen at the middle school level. He he has a high basketball IQ, can shoot, defend, and handle the ball. IMO he is also a top notch kid, I hope he does big things.

So since their football team is not good right now we should turn a blind eye? Tell me more, I think both below average, average, and great teams should all follow the same rules...this doesnt happen. World beaters or not they need to go play in a local All Star sports league, with other non school teams.

From my understanding they pull from all catholic schools in the area and will also let any one who attends Christ the King that goes to public school to play with them as well. IMHO they are an all star team. Can anyone confirm this?

How is Lex. Cath able to play in this state tournament? They dont have a middle school, is this like an AAU football team from Lexington? Who checks their grades? Who checks their ages?

Richie Phares. Small Forward....but could still take any big man in the state IMO.

Its a problem at large schools as well....and it happens more often! More athletes means more issues IMO!

No matter when one starts and the others begin basketball coaches should be respectful of football finishing up....this doesnt happen and basketball coaches make the athletes chose sports, coaches say they dont...but it happens on a daily basis.

In Scott County October 15th was celebrated with students getting out early...at 1:30...More Practice Time!!!!! (it also aligned with our monthly early release day....no connection to the start of Basketball...but it sure made you look!)
