How are the middle schools looking in your area.

I'm interested in Summit View Middle school in NKY. Any news? I believe the program started around 2001. I thought I read the coach moved to Scott as the freshman coach.

I hear the Red team is going to be good in the FTJRFL. : )

Summit View has had a lot of good teams since they've started. In fact, didn't they win the championship two years in a row? They are a well coach team and even if their head coach left I'm sure they will still be well coached and just as strong in their league as before.

I haven't heard much about the FTJRFL yet but I'm sure they have some top notch teams in the middle school level. They must be something right out there - just look at their high school program.

Has anybody heard anything about CocCath's middle school program yet? I hear that they have started a program this year.

Man I heard they had a ton of kids come out. I think its a good thing to get a middle school program going over there.

 

FTJRFL 8th graders have some very talented athletes but to be quite honest there are a couple dynamite studs in the Highlands 8th grade class who will be donning the CC red and Black n Gold Bellevue Tiger stripes this season in the NKYFL. Donovan McCoy and Brandon Lowery are two names to look out for on those respective teams along with a host of other Highlands kids playing in the FTJRFL. McCoy is a tall athletic kid with very nice speed and Lowery is solid as a rock and a bruiser.

The Camels will have a good team this year. They are led by the following:

Chris Bear - OL/LB

Nate McGovney - QB/S

Bobby Moore - TE/LB

Travis Stadtmiller - RB/LB

Grant Mahoney - LB

Jake Demoss - RB

I would like to know who are some of the better middle school football programs around the state. These are the feeder programs for our High Schools and sometimes they get overllooked.:

Elkhorn Middle school, feeds Franklin County.

I would have to say That Elkhorn Middle School is one of the Best in the State. :thumb:

Burns Middle School in Owensboro, KY feeds Apollo High School. In 32 years, the eighth grade team has had 11 undefeated seasons 14 one game loss seasons. Not against slack talent either. They play every year Owensboro Middle, Henderson schools among others. Last years seventh grade was 8-0, and they are looking for another undefeated eighth grade year.

Newport Middle school had a scrimmage against Holy Cross (Cov) this past Thursday - NMS looked together both on defense and offense. NMS offensive line was no less than perfect. The 0-line was working together and producing some great protection for their QB and RB's. The QB #2 had some great passes and ran the ball hard. NMS also had #13 running hard and making a lot of things happen along with #4 making things happen. The fullback #10 was a force - he set the RB's up - great job. Also #40 (hope i have that number right) caught the ball well and a #48 very tall - caught a good pass and with work and time will help the NMS. Holy Cross (Cov) had some good size and their defense at first wasn't clicking but as the game went they began to work together. HC offense was descent - good luck to both teams this season.
