I know this sounds weird but I had a 42' Vizio (720) and it met an untimely (abusive) death so I replaced it with a 1080 JVC and I really think the Vizio had a better picture plus it had a lot of better features. The JVC takes forever to come on, kinda like the old days waiting for the TV to warm up. The Vizio came right on, maybe the 1080 takes longer to warm up. IDK
  2. The 7th grade numbers were low this year but each year the high school gains students. This year there are 8 or 9 freshman girls playing ball this year (from what I'm told) when there were only four eigth graders last year (a gain of four). It is hard for a small school to have enough to field a team for each grade, but in high school you are looking at two teams for four grades, five grades if you bring up 8th graders. The numbers in jr. high are low now, but who knows what the high school years will bring for these grades? Only time will tell.
  3. The high school teams at St. Patrick have enough girls without bringing up jr. high, from what I understand. I do think they might bring up eigth grade for the freshman team although they may not need to since they have quite a few freshman this year. The Douglas girl is a freshman this year so she will be playing. Since she played Freshman, JV and Varsity last year, I assume she will be playing on all three teams this year, again.
  4. Pretty disappointing......... The CP needs to do a little more research. When the season starts, this list will change. I hope some of these teams don't get too excited or dissappointed by their ranking.
  5. Better hope the person they connect you to is there to answer your question. The few times I have left a voicemail, I have never gotten a return call. I have really gotten used to people not returning calls. The gov't offices in Frankfort that I deal with at work are the worst. I have also e-mailed a couple of times....no reply.
  6. I heard that Bracken County has two already on the out for the season with ACL injuries and one player that has transferred toMason County to live with her father. Any truth to this?
  7. His obituary here.... http://www.maysville-online.com/articles/2008/09/05/obituaries/283woods.txt My sincere sympathy to his wife and family.
  8. I wasn't stating that about public/private because I thought it was a public/private debate. I added that information in response to 20/20Hindsight's remark that if "there was a legitimate change of address..." and in this case there is not change in address due to both schools being in the same city. I am not sure I understand the comparison to the Verity Middle School issue. Did the Rose Hill transfers play on the high school varsity team at Rose Hill. Even if they did I don't see how they could be banned from playing on a middle school team at another school since KHSAA does not govern over middle school sports, from what I understand. My concern was that this student had played high school varsity ball as a middle school student and would be playing high school ball this year as a freshman. I was led to believe that if I switched schools she would be ineligible because she had played high school varsity last year. The person that told me this incorrectly informed me that the ammendment to bylaw 6 had passed and was in effect.
  9. That's what I was looking for, Thanks!!!!! It is a public/private school issue so residence wouldn't be an issue. I was told by someone if a player went to "Pickle County MS" and played for "Pickle County HS" on the varsity team and went to another high school they would be ineligible. I didn't think this was correct, but I couldn't find the info on the KHSAA website. Thanks again.
  10. Does anybody know what the KHSAA rule is for an 8th grader who will be a freshman who played on a varsity team last year but is considering changing schools for high school? I was told KHSAA passed a rule that if an 8th grader played a varsity sport then they are ineligible if they switch schools for high school and will have to sit out a year. I was told by someone else that this is true, but it doesn't go into effect until this year and 8th graders who played varsity sports in the 07-08 season are exempt. If this is true (or not) where would I find this rule on the KHSAA web page?
  11. I'm pretty sure St. Patrick beat every team they played, including Clark.
  12. I saw Cooper play a couple of games one night. The second one I watched they lost by a pretty big margin fifty-something to 9 or 10. It was St. Patrick that beat them that game. I don't remember the score from the game they played before that one. I wish them luck. It has to be hard starting out new like that. Their coaches were really encouraging them, a lot of positive reinforcement. That was good. Does anyone have any idea where you can get more info on these games?
  13. I would think they would give that job to someone who is employed at the school and is readily available on a daily basis. I would have never thought of them giving it to someone employed outside the school system. Is that common? I though most AD's were employees at the school. If they need not be employed at the school then I guess Chris Bauer could be an canidate for the job. But there will also be a teching position open because Lex Turner was also the high school science teacher.
  14. That should be a no-brainer for Mason County. Isn't she the all time high scorer, boys and girls?
  15. Excellent school. Best of luck to both. I know education is very important to both of these young men and by attending one of the top schools in the nation and getting to play basketball as well is the best of both worlds. Transy is one of the few colleges I know of that asks for your ACT and SAT test scores on their on-line prospective student athletes questionnaire.
  16. If you go back to post #6....someone asked why he didn't play. I assume they asked (maybe) because Setty wasn't listed in the stats. So someone answered in post #7 that he did play and didn't score. If you look at the stats, post #2, they apparantly only listed the players that scored. In post #8 it seemed like his lack of points was being defended as just having a bad day. I didn't really think anyone was intentionally "calling him out". Sounds like Ohio was having a better day.
  17. If his mother works at Bryan Station, why is he at Mason? Do they live in Mason County?
  18. Pretty interesting that the coach with the best record in the 15th region this year would want to come go to Mason County where, I think I would be safe in saying, it will be a rebuilding year. Did he lose a lot of players at Pike Co. this year?
  19. If all this is over a kid not getting to start a game due to a college visit then I can't understand why the administration wouldn't be backing the coach. And what would be the basis of the lawsuits??? Sound like it was more than on set of parents and more than one lawsuit. Is there more to this story? I know that coaches get a lot of grief from parents, but if the coach is right then he should stand his ground and the AD and the school should back him.
  20. Are other things considered when this award is given or is it just based on accomplishments on the court? Are grades, community service, and other stuff of this nature figured in when chosing the recipient of this award? Just wondering.....I don't really know much about the selection process.
  21. They are, I'm listening right now. They are carrying all the games.
  22. I, myself, don't think any players would follow her.:laugh::laugh: He might be a good choice, he lives in Maysville and knows a lot of people at MC.
  23. I think this is a good idea...I think if coaches vote they should be able to vote for any player on any team but their own, that way there are no emotions involved.
  24. Are you saying you'd be suprised or wouldn't be suprised??? I would be very suprised if Fleming Co. players followed her to Mason. I think Butler would get consideration, he knows the girls and the program.
