Homerun

For those who have not been to St. X lately, the physical changes to the campus have been unbelievable. The campus does look more like a small college. The students who attend and the parents who sacrifice to make it possible need to be grateful for the opportunities at the school.

I heard recently that PRP is passing out the state high school baseball championship rings at half-time of the St. X vs. PRP football game. Maybe the next state football champs could give a good welcome to last year’s baseball champs?

St. X is blessed with a lot of talent, including running back. Deuce Finch, when completely healthy, has explosive speed and power and is one of the best that they have had. Neal has done a great job this year as well. St. X has a "problem" that's nice to have--a number of players that would be quality running backs. I just wouldn't count out Beach at running back because he played defense this year. If anything, it's just an amazing tribute to the young man that he can play middle linebacker as a sophomore for a team like St. X. He was the only sophomore listed as a starter in the St. X vs Trinity game. He is a hard worker and really seems like a quality individual. When I've been around him, it's always "yes sir, no sir" with his conversation. Beach is a "beast"- no doubt. I don't know what he wants to play or what really will be his best position. It's a nice problem for St. X to have.

Jared Clarkson plays for Shelby County. He had a good state tournament as a freshman. I thought he had a verbal commitment to U of L. He had a injury last year, leg I believe, after a collision I think while running to first? He did not play a lot because of the injury. He is a tall, athletic outfield with a very athletic frame. He has an excellent arm. I had he has very good speed.

The St. X vs Trinity game showcases the 2 best football programs in the state of Kentucky. May the game go injury free.

Big win for the Cougars. The Cougars stopped an E-town drive and then scored themselves right before the end of the first half to make it 21-14. If E-town would have scored then, it would have been 28-7.

Coach Glaser has done great things to build the program. But the school supports X-cellence. Can they beat Trinity or the Cincinnati teams?

Someone once said that three things can happen when you throw the ball, and 2 of them aren't good. You can catch it, the other team can catch it, or you can drop it or not catch it. I think St. X follows this strategy.
