Saint Xavier 36 Central 13

Featured Replies

A late TD with no time left for Central closes the gap. A tough, hard fought game by both sides. Glad to see X get a challenge before the playoffs.

Very nice win for the Tigers. Easily the most physical team X has faced all season. I was also very impressed with the overall team speed for Central. Nice tune up for the playoffs.

Some of the best talent in Louisville on display at St. X. tonight.

Junior quarterback Chris King is impressive the way he fakes the handoff, pulls it and turns the corner quickly. Once at the corner his tremendous speed is hard to contain. He had 21 carries for 203 yards. Mister Cobble, Ridge Wilson and Tim Patterson all make Central a stern test for anyone.

Deuce Finch led St. X. with 185 yards on 12 carries and 3 touchdowns.

This game was very physical and will prepare both teams for the playoffs.

Good luck to Central....they are not afraid to play anyone.

Very good showing for Central. Even though they scored on the last play of the game to make the final score, it was never a blowout. St. X was firmly in control throughout but Central had a 1st & goal from the 1yd line and a TD catch bobbled in the end zone that would have made it interesting.

1. Finch looked great.

2. Central's qb Chris King runs that fake as well as I've ever seen it run.

3. St. X's facility....wow! There are some small college's that would love to have that campus!

Good job STX

For those who have not been to St. X lately, the physical changes to the campus have been unbelievable. The campus does look more like a small college. The students who attend and the parents who sacrifice to make it possible need to be grateful for the opportunities at the school.

Did anyone else see the new Tiger sculpture dedicated last night? A St. X alumni was the artist, it was caste in Louisville and a lot of other very special supported it. Wow! St. X is a special community of believers.

Great job Tigers! I believe Central will win back to back state titles.

Nothing like Central playing the two best teams in the state to get ready for the playoffs. St. X and then Highlands. WOW!!! They won't see anyone better throughout, that's for sure. Just stay healthy and watch out.
