St.Xavier 41 Ballard 20 (JV)

Daylen Hall scored 5tds leading the St.X offensive attack. Matthew Wilson had a huge night on defense with 2 ints. Nice win Tigers.

This was a JV game played at St. X. tonight. Daylen Hall really showed his speed tonight. I must admit that I'm a little disappointed however. I was hoping to see Lamont McMurray get some carries tonight, after being out all season with an injury. I also noted that Jay Hayden was standing on the sidelines, but he was not in uniform. Is he still injured from the Trinity game? Hall, McMurray, and Hayden provide the sophomore class of Tigers with one heck of a punch at RB. GO TIGERS!! :thumb:

It will be interesting to see what Coach Glaser does next season with the glut of running backs he has in the sophomore class, don't forget Beach! Junior class has Neal and Montano, both very solid. Hall has more size and speed than Hayden and McMurray but has played solid DB at the varsity level this year. Nice problem for any coaching staff to have.

Don't forget Brohm also at tailback

I am really happy the Bruins continue their boycott of Trinity while assisting the young Tigers sharpen their claws. Of course this boycott has really hurt the Rocks. Trinity now leads this "rivalry" 39-5.

The gap grows wider.........between JCPS and privates...:flame:

Has he been converted to RB? If so, good move by X. He runs much better than he throws.

They'd be crazy not to find touches for Daylen next year. Kickoff and punt returns for sure. I would start him at strong saftey and also give him 3 or 4 offensive series at RB. Pro set, with Neal lead blocking, wow!

It is going to be hard for the offense to get Beach back over there now that he plays defense so well.

That is exactly why he WILL be the QB. Both varsity QB's now are better runners than passers.

Montano has more "quicks" than folks realize. I see him factoring in quite nicely next season.

St. X is blessed with a lot of talent, including running back. Deuce Finch, when completely healthy, has explosive speed and power and is one of the best that they have had. Neal has done a great job this year as well. St. X has a "problem" that's nice to have--a number of players that would be quality running backs. I just wouldn't count out Beach at running back because he played defense this year. If anything, it's just an amazing tribute to the young man that he can play middle linebacker as a sophomore for a team like St. X. He was the only sophomore listed as a starter in the St. X vs Trinity game. He is a hard worker and really seems like a quality individual. When I've been around him, it's always "yes sir, no sir" with his conversation. Beach is a "beast"- no doubt. I don't know what he wants to play or what really will be his best position. It's a nice problem for St. X to have.

He is a great kid who is just very happy to be playing football at St.X.

With so many good backs in the sophomore class, it's a shame you can't redshirt players like college. The Baby Bengals, although over 100 strong, are extremely slow and drew a complete blank at running back this year.

Daylen just turned 15 in August:eek: he would have been a wonderful redshirt;)

They have some in front of them, if they get a good class behind them next year they will be fine.
