I'd call it an upset. I thought Franklin Co would make it to regions... They had some high expectations at the beginning of the season. I'd guess that the boys at Frankfort High haven't forgotten that Coach Chalk left them to go up the road to Franklin Co.

Any stats on this one? Is Knowles back?

One more observation: Henry Clay might have had 30 fans at the game (not counting their band). It's a shame that the folks in Lexington just don't follow the high school ball like we do out in the counties...

Final. Observations: - Scott gets big games from Jimmy Warren and Tyler Portwood tonight. - Mackey was tough. - Walls had a rough night shooting the ball. - Henry Clay did not come into the gym expecting to win this game and got off to a very slow start. - It was a very physical game and Scott Co. was the more physical team. - Hundley did a great job not letting Moses touch the ball much - when he did you could write down the 2 points. - Coach Brown was ejected with 2 technical fouls... He deserved the first one but not the second. - Cards survive and advance. - HC should be really tough next year with Boyd and Moses back!

And VERY little accountability for their actions.

I hate to hear that. SK has a quality team. They can probably still compete for a few more games even with the injuries. Hopefully everyone will be healthy by then.

Nothing we talk about on here solves anything - that I know of. I thought they were out of line a few times, but it is so much better to play Madison Central and their rowdy fans than to play the city schools with no following. BTW - if they had ever seen Matt Walls girl they would know better than to chant about his sexual orientation like they did when he shot free throws.

Every game will be a HUGE test from here on out for the Cards. I won't be suprised if every team we face from now on is ranked in the top 25.

I agree - Holmes has a team who is hungry, refreshed, and playing with a chip on their shoulder. They will be tough to beat in the 9th. I like Cov Cath, but they are in for a dog fight... haha - didn't think about "dog fight" until after I typed it.

The 8th region coaches have always voted a little funny in my opinion. With all the success my Cards had in the 8th - I don't believe Coach Hicks was ever 8th region coach of the year. I might be wrong, but I think that even the year he was coach of the year in the state - he wasn't in the region.

I remember that one of the best players in Montgomery Co. history utilized his name: Billy Ray Fawns owned a mowing service when he was in high school called "Fawns Lawns".

Yes, it was a pretty big upset. MC had been having a decent year, but not many really expected them to make it that far - let alone winning the game. The 11th region tournament is going to be a good one again this year. There are so many teams capable of winning it. Whoever does will have to play well and have some luck along the way.

Nope - beat Bryan Station pretty handily in the district finals. SC lost on a last second shot to Madison Central in the Region 11 Finals.
