Travel - get off the bus - play one of the top teams in the nation who has the motivation of revenge - 6500 fans rooting against them - 5 players who would like nothing more than to prove they can avenge the loss WITHOUT their showman - Scott Co. has a lot to overcome to come out of this one with a win. Even with all that I think there's something about the pride Scott Co. takes in this game. If Scott Co. can get into the HHS bench they definitely have a shot at winning again. I'm sure SC will focus on stopping Patterson so a big factor in this game will be if the HHS guards can hit the wide open jumpers they missed at Memorial. I'll be there - anyone else going? He has to be a good player to get a scholarship to Evansville - I hope he does great. I hope he's matured and gotten stronger too - it seems like our kids were successful playing physical with him.

I only saw Vanhoose play at Scott Co. last year (I think it was in the Toyota Classic) but he had a nightmare. It wasn't that his shooting was off - he couldn't get open to get a shot off. I've heard that he is a stud - but from what I saw with my own two eyes - Walls and Pettigrew are a notch above.

Anyone got stats for this one? I am suprised by the final score. Did Lex Cath press the whole game and it finally paid off the 4th quarter? Usually they run that 2-2-1 full court. Novasel is so good at playing physical - very physical - but not pushing it so far that he gets a lot of fouls called. I bet the match up between he and Jones was worth watching.

King Rex - those numbers are really impressive for Pettigrew. I wish E-town had come back to the Toyota Classic one more year... We could have seen these two go head to head. I'd put my boy Walls up against anyone - any time. He's got the heart of a winner...

I didn't cheer for Madison Central last year when after they put us out on that last second shot - but I didn't cheer against them either. Kind of a numb feeling as I watched the game.

Coach Renner must have the Bruins playing well right now. Good win for Ballard.

Scott Co. already has 1 loss - to Arlington Country Day. For Walls to make a run to beat Pettigrew (and I think it might be a closer race than some) - Matt needs to lead his team to the State Tournament and have at least 2 really good games once there. If E-town were to get put out early in the district or regional then it would open the door for Walls. I've not seen any shooting percentages for Pettigrew this year. Are those gawdy numbers coming from a good % or is he putting it up every time down the floor? I'd love to see Matt win the award. YODA

It's just rain right now - and about 37 outside. The bad weather might come tomorrow night. I bet Cov. Cath. can get here ok - but they might have to stay a few nights... Maybe we could borrow a couple of them for our trip to Huntington on Thursday.

No thank you - we went up there last year. Those fans are awesome. We were lucky to get a W there. It gets SOOOOOOOOOO loud in that gym.

I think Coach Listerman is feeling pretty good about their chances. I heard the Scott Co. AD tonight at the girls game say that Listerman had called to say that if there was ANY way they could make it down they will be here. That close game last time without their best player has to give Cov. Cath. some confidence.

I bet the boys from Huntington will be ready and focused when the Cards come to town. It should be fun - Scott Co. has WAY better depth - if they can get into the bench or wear HHS down. It sure would be fun to beat them twice - but it won't be easy. YODA

The Toyota Classic supplements budgets for all athletic teams in Scott Co. who choose to participate in the sale of tickets - all the way down to the middle school level. Boys Basketball also has a golf scramble to raise $$$. I don't know what the starting budgets are (if any).

I thought BGP was created for 2 reasons 1. Horn Tooting of your own team 2. Venting on topics that are under your skin A Lex. Catholic fan on another thread made the statement that they had played the toughest schedule in the state. I had a different opinion so I started this thread. Plus I wanted to see who else has played tough schedules. I know my Cards get respect from most - I'm actually harder on them than most of the posters on this board - but I do give them props when they deserve it - and their schedudle deserves it.

This week is FRIGHTNING for my Cards. Cov. Cath Tuesday, @ Huntington Thursday, @ Lex. Cath Saturday We could easily take 3 L's this week... The way we played against Sayre will not get it done against these three teams. I'll take Scott Co. at home in a HARD fought battle - 62 - 60.

In that case I'll take GRC 74-68 Catholic's home court advantage is about 12 pts. I'm not as loyal to the 11th as some of y'all are to the 10th... Go GRC. You guys beat em first - and my Cards will get em again this Saturday.

Yes, there is, but a lot of the time - athletic competitiveness is pretty close to the top of the list.
